Gus basically told Gale that he was going to be cooking without Walt soon. Gale knew the business and would have let Walt die without any heads up.

The way that the background remains static and just the hand is jittering in the foreground looks very cool. Was this how the scene was shot or did you do it while you were making the gif?

Vince Gilligan said in an A.V. Club Interview that that wasn't meant to be ambiguous at all (i.e. Jesse definitely shot Gale), but he could see why people thought so.

I think that if they were to reshoot the scene it would've been better if Jesse lowered the gun a bit before the final shot. The ambiguity came from Jesse clearly aiming at Gale's face then switching cameras to a view where Jesse clearly lifts the gun then shoots. That said, it still annoys me when people are actually confused by it.

That's still just people looking wayyyyy too deep into it. This isn't a show that tries to trick people. They lay it out like it is.

It wasn't a "Did Jesse shoot Gale?!" cliffhanger. It was a "What the fuck is Gus going to do to Walt and Jesse?!" cliffhanger.
