How different would the world be if the human visual perspective was like this, with distortion at the edges? Would we have ever learned how straight lines work? Would modern physics exist? Would we have made any of the technological advancements ever achieved by man? Thank god our perspective is flat and undistorted. Like seriously, what would life be like if things changed shape based on where they are within your field of vision? Holy fuck.

Unless this is how it's supposed to be and our vision distorts it and makes it how it is.

I know the scientific/anatomical explanation for why we know that we see in "true" perspective, but cannot seem to summon it.

It was done with a fish-eye lense, and you take a panorama shot around you. Then you open it and photoshop and apply a couple of filters and you can get mini-globes like this. It can be sick
