I was in the backseat of the car on the way home from Canada. I was looking at the dashboard and realized that it's a landscape view - more horizontal than vertical. That makes sense though, because that's how our eyes are. We see more horizontal than vertical. I think this is because our eyes placement. They are side by side (horizontal) rather than up and down (vertical). This made me realize how many things are designed with this in mind (which makes sense). Houses, screens, signs, dashboards, keyboards - so many things. I felt like an alien observing the biological constructs of the human species and how they subtly influence and transform their lives. I then began to think how things would look if our eyes were vertical instead of horizontal. Nothing really "fit" though. Cars would be a mess (at least, the cars I had engineered inside my mind within a short period of time). Houses would be a lot harder to construct. None of this "fit" because of gravity and physics though. So, now I'm thinking how greatly the natural laws of the universe have affected evolution on Earth (and surely on other planets). We may not know life on other planets, but we know what laws they abide by, and even if we don't know all the laws of the universe or ours aren't entirely correct, we all must live by the true laws and they all immensely influence our lives. And in that way everything in the universe is connected.
