When I was teenager, my family went on a trip to California. One of our stops was the Monterey Bay Aquarium. They have (had?) sea otters on exhibit. I think I spent at least 30 or 40 solid minutes gawking at them. There are very few creatures on this planet that are cuter than sea otters, in my opinion.

I don't know if many people outside of the gay community know this, but an otter is a gay man who is hairy like a bear, but much smaller and more importantly slimmer, so you can't really refer to him as a "bear" because it doesn't really fit. The More You Know™.

I took this video a few years ago in central Mississippi, this critter was in a ditch behind a house. Any clues what it is? I thought maybe it was a river otter, but I really don't know. I know the video is poor quality (just took it with my cell phone, old e70) but maybe someone can tell.

He was an awesome little guy whatever he was. He came two days in a row at the same spot, first day I didn't have my cell phone with me, second I did so that is when I shot the crap video. He would stay under for a while then come up and repeat for 4 or 5 minutes. He was pretty shy but not overly afraid (he was aware of me and didn't swim away fast or anything).
