While toking, when someone starts obviously acting high even though they aren't high at all

I'm a lightweight and when I was younger I was always afraid of how I would look if I let myself act high "too soon." So I always just sat there smiling and tried to enjoy it until a time that I felt was appropriate to act super high :) Because I'm awkward like that!

As I got a bit older, I realized that, as long as I'm not acting like an idiot, my friends didn't mind that I got high super fast--it meant more for everyone else!

There was one girl in our little circle who always managed to ruin everything, though. For one, she'd take hit after hit and hold it in her mouth, never drawing it into her lungs so that when she let it out it was dark grey, almost black smoke. Then she would spend the next day talking about how "bad-ass" she was for being able to out-smoke everyone else. All she ever did was waste it :(

The other side of her was to be IMMEDIATELY high if someone else felt high. She had to out-crazy everyone and if you were like "wow, I have the munchies" she'd be like "OMG I HAVE TO EAT EVERYTHING HAHA OMG CHOCOLATE AND CHIPS AND COOKIES AND MEEEEEEAAAAT! FEED ME!"

One time it got so bad that a friend of ours got fed up. She took one hit and then pretended she couldn't hear us when we asked her to pass. She just sat there laughing and holding a joint in her hand. Finally someone grabbed it from her and she then pretended to have a seizure. Another friend took a cup of water off of the table and dumped it on her, told her to grow the fuck up or gtfo. Suddenly she sobered up and thanked him for helping her.

When we had a "guest" join us who did not know about her nonsense, she pulled the same crap, pretending to be "trippin' off shrooms, dudes!" (exact quote) and the kid called the police when she "passed out." That was a fun day. Luckily I just walked home and let her mother deal with that whole scene.

Sorry for the long post, just annoyed with her shenanigans! The main reason we haven't talked in months :)

I've got a friend who smokes almost an ounce a week. Smoking with him is a real drag because he gets pissed off if anyone else starts acting high, no matter if they've had 2 joints to themselves.

I rarely ever smoke in a group so I don't have this experience. Still, why is this so frustrating? I could see rolling your eyes or calling out the person in a humorous fashion, but I figure if the goal is got get high and happy and chill, putting yourself in that mental state early on seems like a good thing. Certainly better than if he smokes your shit and then is all "nah bro I ain't even high"

I've had a strange thing happening to me with alcohol. As soon as my lips touch the glass, I feel more relaxed and willing to laugh, joke, talk, etc. It's obviously not because of the alcohol: it's like I realize I'm in a context where I can stop worrying and be myself.

Maybe some people experience this with weed. I dunno.

Coming from someone who does this: I'm normally a pretty happy person on my own (not peppy and annoying, but I laugh and joke and smile and enjoy life). When I get high I become extremely happy and laugh about fucking everything. Example: I just watched this gif for five minutes.

I feel you. Sometimes it's ridiculous: after ten minutes of eating a brownie they say "I feel it." Or when they try to relate to the 1-10 high scale they go completely off the norm and invent their own scale. "Dude I feel like a 14," who the fuck does that? I have been on the other side of that, though. Where I'm super high and others are just got a comfortable high.

Now I feel self-conscious about how I act when I smoke with my friends. I always let everyone know when i'm feeling pretty high, and ask them how they're doing. I guess to try to gauge how I am compared to the rest of the group. I wonder if they interpret it incorrectly and think I'm a Sapling that is "trying too hard".
