I browse r/gaming pretty frequently, and I have seen a ton of posts with a picture of this bear in the 10 months I've been on reddit. They are usually titled "fuck this guy", or "Did anyone else hate this guy"..etc. I have no idea who this character is (and to tell the truth, I don't really care), but I have come to hate him too. I had this bug on PS1, "finished" the game about 3 times, every time it sent me back to the beginning, bought it on PS3 and finally finished it (plus the bonus world) without problems.

I understand your pain. Going to the final level in Spyro 1 at 99% completion would bug the game and make it impossible to open the level. If that's not a complete fuck-you then I don't know what is.

You could use the ePSXe Emulator and Emuparadise.com

But, to legally play the games, you need to actually own the CDs...... not that anyone's going to know

Yes you can! That's exactly what I do! Make sure you set the controller to DualShock. You'll need:

zlib.dll goes in the Parent folder, where ePSXe.exe is located, the BIOS goes in the "bios" folder, and Pete's GPU goes in the plugins.

When Selecting BIOS, you'll want SCPH1001.BIN, if you're playing NTSC-U.

zlib1.dll is the only file you need in the Parent folder from the zlib.rar.

If the 360 controller is plugged in, you should be able to map the controls via Config > Gamepad > Port 1 > Pad 1. All you have to do is click the control box and press the button the 360 remote.

I am using Vista, but I don't see XP being a problem. Look for new drivers here.

Any of the games after the first three are pretty mediocre forgettable platformers. The first three were great games, but I wouldn't play them unless you're playing them for nostalgic purposes (and you obviously wouldn't be) simply because there's a lot of better games you can be wasting your time with.

That said, the games were brilliant for their time and if you had asked me about them when they were first out I would have recommended them over just about any other game available.
