Nice. Apparently the ridge is a sign of sickness or a sign of a physical abnormality in ridgebacks. The healthy pups that don't have the ridge are put down. So if you want one, ask the breeder for a pup without the ridge and you will have a more healthy pup and you will have saved it from being put down (for not being desirable).
