The elevators at the new hospital where I work (<1 year old) have a simpering drunken elf "have a super sunshiny day!" voice for the visitor elevators, and a pissed off "get the fuck out of me" voice for the employees. Oh, and the trick does not work.

Assuming this works at all it is highly unlikely that it is a standard feature. It probably depends entirely on the manufacturer.

It may be a feature on some elevators but I can tell you from personal experience that it hasn't worked on any one I've tried.
