This isn't really a WTF moment. This was a One Show Bronze Pencil winner for an integrated branding campaign.

Y&R (ad agency) made a campaign for LG Mobile. The campaign was called "Give it a Ponder" and did sites like giveitaponder.com where you can put your own James Lipton beard on you through webcam and everything.

I can't believe it's him without the beard, it looks like they swapped to a body double who is a lot older.

It may be because the beard no longer hides the cheeks and his eyebrows are higher which makes the face appear longer.
