Season 2 didn't open strongly, Season 1 opened even worse than Season 2. I knew we just had to have a little faith, for some reason the openers in Community are always weak, I think it's because Harmon feels he has to shelf the weirder (better) stuff for a bit or the network gets a bit uppity.

In context the guy, Troy, is trying to act adult, and pulls out a ciggarette, theoretically affirming his adulthood. When the girl, Brita, goes to light it, Troy eats it, showing it was a candy ciggarette and ruining his adulthood effect.

Well, I'd say it's either referring to Troy, who is hypothetically so high that he would eat the joint (in context, he's not), or Britta, who actually is high and probably didn't realize what Troy had just done until several minutes afterward.
