Kitty bellies are the best. My friends had this kitty who had to get surgery, so her belly was all shaved for a while. I'm allergic to cats, and one time I got drunk and nuzzled that kitty belly for like 5 minutes. Itched all night. Worth it.

I'm allergic to most cats, but I rolled the dice and adopted this little guy. So far no allergy issues at all (its been about 2 weeks).

My theory is that he is too cute to have dander.

My brother's wife adopted two kittens, had allergy symptoms for a while, and then they just sort of went away. Maybe you can acclimate to them?

Most cats will let you rub the belly for a few seconds. Overstay your welcome though and the claws come out. Or is that my wife I'm thinking of?

Yep. Most cats are automatically defensive of their belly. The ones who are, but not psychotically so, should still allow belly rubs once you earn their trust and learn to read their body language. My cats will both grab your hand, bite, and kick with their back legs/claws if you just go for it, but love it if you've spent some time petting them gently and massaging their necks/ears first.

I contend that they sedated that kitten. I have a 9 week old that cannot hold still long enough to take a clear picture. Willow goes from sleep mode to crack mode in a heartbeat. Even at nap time she looks like a pirate.

When my cat was 10 weeks old he'd fall asleep for a couple hours and not move. Then when he woke up he'd be, as you said, in crack mode.

I don't have much experience with kittens and cats so I don't know how protective they are of their bellies, but virtually every puppy and dog absolutely loves it when I rub their bellies.

When I give it a couple of solid taps and then start scratching with both hands, they go nuts!

Yeah! I love kitty bellies! One of my cats will just fall over when you start petting her and she rolls over onto her back right away so you can rub her tummy. Then she play fights with your hand, so cute!

I once fed my 5 week pup (she was abandoned too early by her mom's owners, but I nursed her for a week straight) too much. She proceeded to drink water and then could barely walk because her tummy was so full and round!
