Without fail, the only posts on reddit that make me cry are the ones about losing dogs.

Broke up with your girlfriend? So what? Lost your job? Too bad. Your mom died? I don't care. Ten bajillion killed in the worst accident in the history of the world? Well that sucks.

But somebody mentions that he'll never see his beloved dog again... suddenly I'm a wreck for the rest of the day. I'm crying like a baby right now. I don't know what I'll do when my buddy's time comes.

When I moved out I left my dog at my parents house. She was always so dumb and clumsy. I'd been visiting her less and less, and I hadn't really thought about her until last night, when they told me she ran away. We still haven't found her. They live in a pretty isolated little desert suburb. I don't think well find her, really, and I thought I was going to be okay with that until I saw this stupid fucking comic. I guess I'll just go lay in bed for the rest of eternity.

Last month I just put down two dogs. Our new puppy we had for 4 weeks had parvo from his breeder. He was just to weak to pull through. Then my 14 year old mini wiener dog had to be put down. She had massive internal organ problems. It was just best for her, rather than live with extraordinary pain for the next year. We got her when I was 9. She slept by my bed every morning. And was always there when I got home, waiting by the door. Burying her was one of the hardest things I have ever done. So as I tear up and type this, I would to thank you kind sir. Xtirpation, For posting this. And reminding me why I loved her so!

My childhood dog died a few years back. We all knew it was coming and every morning before school for her last 6 months of life (I was about a freshman in HS) I would wake up 30 minutes early so I could clean up her shit/piss from where she slept since she couldn't even get up to use the bathroom anymore. She was old and blind and I had grown from a 4 year old boy to a 16 year old teenager and she didn't recognize me. She would bark whenever I came near her but when I pet her she would settle down and remember me. And it didn't even fucking bother me because this cartoon was the exact same situation.

One morning I woke up to clean her off, and found her wimpering on her side, obviously dying. Her lungs had pooled with liquid and she was just drowning on our living-room floor, and I couldn't handle it. Instead of taking her to the vet with my family to put her down, I yelled at my mom and sister and went to school sullenly crying about how stupid my dog was for making a mess. Halfway through the day I had a serious breakdown and called my mom to see if I could come home and say my goodbyes, but they had already put her to sleep.

I still can't fucking forgive myself all these years later. God damnit reddit. I miss my fucking dog

all these depressing dog posts...and i didn't even get to hold mine. my SO and i waited months for the corgi breeder to have some pups. last weekend we drove 2 hours to see her before she had to get a c-section, we saw pictures and decided that she will be the one. today we got news that the mother was so exaughsted and she pinned down our pup out of the whole lot. and she died this morning, RIP Buttons H. Magillicutty i never had the chance to get mad at you, nor the chance to fall in love with you.
