The night before the burial of her husband 2nd Lt. James Cathey of the United States Marine Corps, killed in Iraq, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of "Cat", and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept. " I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it" she said. " I think that's what he would have wanted".

Well in all honesty I have caught several things on a repost were people were bitching about it being a repost that I have never seen. What people don't understand is that not everyone is browsing the net at the same time or they join the community after said post took its course which is why I support reposts. Also not everyone is subscribed to the same subreddits.

Yea I had no idea this was a repost, I just saw it on facebook and I just instantly had to share it. I even made a reddit account to do so. So, yea i wasn't trying to karma whore or anything just wanted to share since I myself am a Marine and soon to be married. I just don't ever want to put my wife through this. Thanks for the heads-up and tip though.

I don't get what the whole deal of people saying it's Karma Whoring and declaring reposts more than a month old. Reddit has grown massively in the past few months (Myself included) and that means a large large amount of people haven't seen this stuff before. If it's a repost, who cares? Just move on. People that haven't seen it before can upvote and downvote as they please. The rest who haven't seen this before are going to enjoy it. Don't accuse a person of Karma whoring. IT DOESN'T MATTER. THEY ARE INTERNET POINTS, NON REDEEMABLE, AND NO ONE BUT YOU CARES WHAT YOUR SCORE IS. This is a very nice photo and story, and it has my upvote, whether it is a repost or not.
