Now that we've established that Anderson Cooper is the protector of all children, can we please get him to do something about this? (i.imgur.com)

If only there was a subreddit where people could post pics of these girls to show these atrocities committed by their parents...

We'll call it /r/baitjail, in an attempt to bait the parents of these children into jail!

No, no. You're both wrong. Sexualizing toddlers is a perfectly acceptable way to fortify self esteem... of the gross, overweight, aging mothers... ಠ_ಠ

Dont forget the joy of competing for the affections of pedophiles. Who the fuck judges these things?
[–]Irongrip 4 points5 points6 points 12 months ago
A pedophile did an ama some time ago. According to him that show is disgusting.
[–]JackpotDen 3 points4 points5 points 12 months ago
Pedophiles who are parents.
EDIT : Or uncles or something.
[–]MeritWinstheSoul 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
It's usually painted up old women and previous competitors by the looks of it. Pill popping, wine swilling, pink nailed hags.
[–]NinjaDiscoJesus 51 points52 points53 points 12 months ago
Yeah.... Toddlers and Tiaras broadcast on TLC owned by discovery communications (Co-owners of Harpo - Oprahs channel where anderson often appears) and often simulcast on Time Warner Cable, owner of CNN, where anderson works....
[–]Uberhatkat 17 points18 points19 points 12 months ago
Now I understand. Coop was just taking out the competition! I'm not sure if I'm joking. There's some topical late-night material here.
[–]Direnaar 31 points32 points33 points 12 months ago
Wild corporate media appears! It uses censorship! It's super effective
[–]dog_in_the_vent 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
So it's fair to say that Toddlers and Tiaras is a subreddit of TWC? Of which CNN is also a subreddit?
[–]schwiz 19 points20 points21 points 12 months ago
did you see the It's Always Sunny making fun of this?
[–]thmoka 16 points17 points18 points 12 months ago
I don't wanna diddle any of these kids!
[–]mullanaphy 2 points3 points4 points 12 months ago
Fat Mac was so graceful on stage, he was a delight.
As for Cooper, I have my suspicions about him... If it weren't for tip offs from Chris Hansen he probably would've taken a sit right there.
[–]thepiedpiper 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
oo that guy? yea hes a diddler
[–]Abyssion237 93 points94 points95 points 12 months ago
This bothers me much more than the jailbait subreddit honestly.

I saw some clip on The Soup from this show of a mother taking her daughter to an auto mechanic for a "spray tan".
[–]Blu3j4y 10 points11 points12 points 12 months ago
I saw that clip. That was one of the most WTF moments I've ever seen on The Soup. The whole kiddie "beauty contest" culture is disturbing to me.
[–]zephrin1 8 points9 points10 points 12 months ago
we should start sending letters of complaint to TLC and the broadcasters. When one of the shows mothers gets charged with child abuse after injecting her own daughter with botox (no she is not a doctor). This show is beyond sick.
[–]erki -14 points-13 points-12 points 12 months ago*
Toddlers and Tiaras = Exploiting children for own sick fantasy.
r/jailbait = Enjoying teens for own sick fantasy.
Also, Anderson Cooper is a nice guy.
EDIT: I spoke too soon.
[–]lazermole 7 points8 points9 points 12 months ago
So Mr. Rogers was a pedo?
Your logic fails.
[–]Superchief72 68 points69 points70 points 12 months ago
Please yes. These girls are being manipulated by their parents as trophies to increase their self-esteem.
[–]philosoraptocopter 23 points24 points25 points 12 months ago*
I sat through an hour of this shit, and you are 1000% correct. Each and every parent that makes it onto that show is a psychological case study in projection, insecurity, and vicarious living. Some are totally imbalanced. The children i have seen are largely disinterested in pageants, and everytime the parents shrug and say "Well, yeah, it's a little extreme but they enjoy it so much..." I just want to grab them and scream "NO THEY DON'T! YOU DO! They only appear to be enjoying it because kids naturally seek their parents' praise, if not simple attention!"
These parents are unconsciously taking advantage of their children's needs for acknowledgment to satisfy their own desires, treating them like animals in the process.
[–]JackpotDen 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
Sorry, I misunderstood your post.
[–]Superchief72 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
No problem. I was a little confused and figured it was some troll.
It's the same as dog shows, except not everyone is responsible enough to own a dog.
[–]solarnexus -24 points-23 points-22 points 12 months ago
As much as I am disgusted by the pageantry of children, I have to say there is an awful lot of bile and furor over it which I think stems more from the fact that people dont like it rather than its hurts the children.
Its easy to spout out stuff like "oh, look at them sexualising children, they must be abusive" without really considering what the reality is.
Frankly, theres nothing about those shows that would have me wanting myself or any of my offspring anywhere near it. But I could say the same thing about a lot of things I dont like, it doesnt mean I'm going to round up the villagers and pitchforks.
These girls are being manipulated by their parents as trophies to increase their self-esteem.
You could say that about many parents pushing their kid into sports as well.
[–]CosineX 26 points27 points28 points 12 months ago
My friend did these pageants from age two until around age nine (when she moved into acting) with her grandmother as her "coach". It was abusive. She didn't want to do any of the stuff but was frequently threatened with being given up for adoption. She got hit if she didn't smile on stage. She was put on diets as a toddler and almost died a few times because she was a diabetic. She was molested by several judges, and later her stepfather and thinks there's no way her grandmother couldn't have known.
If these things were little talent shows where kids put on their Sunday best and sang a little song, it wouldn't be a problem. Just like soccer on a Tuesday night isn't. It's a problem because, like with sports sometimes, parents are spending thousands of dollars and putting their kids through physical and emotional hell to boost their own self esteem.
[–]oholysmokes 16 points17 points18 points 12 months ago
Yeah, but when you see a 3 year old crying hysterically while her mother pulls her false eyelashes off (which hurts, even for an adult), and sobbing that she doesn't want to go on stage, it seems a little different than encouraging, maybe even pushing, your child to be physically active and competitive.
[–]solarnexus -8 points-7 points-6 points 12 months ago
Actually I think thats a perfect analogy.
Doesn't mean its right though. For all intents and purposes /r/jailbait was doing nothing illegal, it was shut down purely to take the focus off reddit for the negative press it was getting.
[–]Molestinyocookies 8 points9 points10 points 12 months ago
No, it was taken down after actual child porn was being traded through PMs.
[–]tmw3000 2 points3 points4 points 12 months ago
Which only happened because Cooper told the actual fans of CP about it.
As far as I know. Or did this happen before as well?
[–]Molestinyocookies 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
I was talking about this thread. Obviously, it could be that this wouldn't have happened if Cooper hadn't done his show, but that's pure speculation. There was illegal activity going on, the subreddit was a middleman for it, so it got shut down.
[–]learningphotoshop 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
So was the reddit messaging system did it get shut down? I am sure some of them go to jailbait via google, was it shut down?
[–]Molestinyocookies 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
it´s not about that. This is not about the moral judgement of /r/jailbait, this is just about legal consequences. reddit can claim ignorance when jailbait is traded through PM's, since they can't look through every PM, nor should they. But when someone publically request child porn, and gets it, Reddit can no longer say that they didn't know. And since it's their servers, they can get in trouble as well.
So can google get in trouble because they link to it?
He certainly brought a bigger audience.
[–]solarnexus 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
have we got anything that backs that up?
You didn't see the post? There was a thread where dozens of people requested some guy for nude pics of a 14 year old girl, and apparently, he did send it.
[–]MacEnvy 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
and apparently, he did send it
There's no evidence of that whatsoever. One mod said he "assumed" it had happened and now everyone else is making the same assumption.
It's just a big witch hunt.
I had heard that the admins looked through his PM's and found CP being sent.
Untrue, as far as I know.
[–]Skoolz 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
PRESUMABLY
Hey, that's just what I heard, there hasn't been an official response from the admins yet.
[–]Maester_May 6 points7 points8 points 12 months ago
You didn't actually read about what really transpired over there, did you?
[–]Myschyf 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
I have a kid who will be three in December. There is no way in the universe I could get her to look like the kids in those pageants without some sort of abuse. And not just 'cause sometimes she likes to wear her pants on her head. There are times I have to hold her legs between mine and her arms with one of my arms while trying to clean her face. Full makeup and wigs? Not in this lifetime.
I also think the whole thing fucks with their heads. But, duh.
[–]cheesyseats4 27 points28 points29 points 12 months ago
Ya the parents that do that to their kids are pretty ridiculous. I saw one episode where they dressed up their daughter as Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. A prostitute really????

If you're watching the show, you're contributing to the problem.
[–]lunyboy 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
Only if there is a feedback mechanism, which most people are involved in. To be honest, a lot of people believe they watch it for the yuk factor, like a train wreck and they just can't stop. But you are right, the more aware we are of it, the more relevant it becomes, and that is very, very bad.
[–]SuddenlySpaniards 2 points3 points4 points 12 months ago
No, it's that good ratings will keep the show on air. Ratings just measure how often it's watched. If you watch it and hate it you're doing just as much to keep it popular as someone who watches and loves it.
[–]DreamoftheEndless 5 points6 points7 points 12 months ago
not exactly, unless you are one of the 'nielsen families' that have a ratings box hooked up. No one knows what the average person watches, there is no feedback as to where you tune, UNLESS you have a nielsen ratings box, which 99% of people don't.
[–]SuddenlySpaniards 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
Oh! Well, TIL.
[–]cheesyseats4 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
Sometimes ridiculousness makes for good tv, I strongly disagree with it but i have seen the show, just to see what a joke these parents really are
[–]DrBrian 12 points13 points14 points 12 months ago
Maybe someone could point out to Anderson Cooper about how crappy the search function is so we can get that fixed.
[–]KH8675309 50 points51 points52 points 12 months ago
Growing up in "pageant world" has to be much more psychologically damaging to children than having pics of you in your underwear posted online at age 16. That's just my personal opinion.
[–]oholysmokes 11 points12 points13 points 12 months ago
Of course, but those situations are different on so many levels. Too different to really compare.
[–]costas_0 6 points7 points8 points 12 months ago
Different, but both are wrong to me.
[–]JackpotDen 9 points10 points11 points 12 months ago
Not really. one actually effects you for your whole life, the other doesn't BECAUSE YOU DON'T FUCKING KNOW ABOUT IT.
Besides, one leads to the other anyway. It's difficult to see these girls doing anything else when they grow up. It's like the parents completely wanted to ruin the kids life.
[–]jf286381 -13 points-12 points-11 points 12 months ago
Well that's just a fact. These girls are the legal American equivalent to the Mexican sex trade...
[–]solarnexus 21 points22 points23 points 12 months ago
Thats pure hyperbole, dont be so silly.
Pageants, even child pageants may be horrid by our standards, but dont fucking compare it to sex trade. They aren't even comparable.
what a fucked up thing to say.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
I wouldn't go as far as saying that either, but these parents are turning their girls into the biggest brats I've ever seen.
[–]drunkcowofdeath 5 points6 points7 points 12 months ago
I'm not a psychologist or anything but I am willing the bet the emotional/physical damage of being in the sex trade is hardly comparable to becoming a brat.
[–]jf286381 -2 points-1 points0 points 12 months ago
say what you will bro, but i look at it this way. these little girls, through the pageants they enter and the commercial programming they sign on to, effectively "sell" their pedobear "sex" appeal to a largely receptive audience base. true, they don't get hoarded into one room apartments, forced into drug abuse, and sold like cattle to the highest bidder--but still, these little girls "sell" "sex", so it's not hyperbole at all...
[–]Second_Location 36 points37 points38 points 12 months ago
Shut it down, Cooper. SHUT IT DOWN.
[–]Granite-M 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
Shut it down, forever!
[–]heatshield 6 points7 points8 points 12 months ago

[–]snuffmeister 2 points3 points4 points 12 months ago
I hate that he says "I'm not a parent, so I'm not in a position to judge"
fuck that, I don't have to be a murderer to condemn serial killers
[–]heatshield 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
It's just a mock disclaimer to avoid and ad-hominem attack. He clearly has an opinion on it, which is why it made the RidicuList.
No, but a proven serial killer is probably easier to condemn than a not so clear cut situation of child abuse. Different people have different ideas of what child abuse constitutes and there's clearly no moral guideline to it nor legal repercussions (in this case). He is presenting a situation and thinks that it is ridiculous. If you want hard opinions read blogs and comments. If you want news with accusations switch to FOX :-)).
[–]Natv 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
Wow..eyebrow waxing, really? That's sad.
You know... With all the think of the children crap going on these days... It amazes me to no end that this is still on TV. That these pageants are still a thing.
This is straight-up sexualization of genuinely young children.
We aren't talking about some teenager who dresses provocatively. These are little girls who are intentionally dressed in a sexual manner, and then put on stage for everyone to gawk at.
Calling men creepy for finding young women attractive is just a way for older women (and younger men) to reduce competition, even though it's perfectly natural.
They don't really care about pedophile predators - attracted to children before puberty - that's why they don't care about this abusive sexualization of toddlers.
That is one twisted, cynical analysis. Have an upvote.
[–]tmw3000 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
I was half joking, of course. But there might be something to it...
[–]StaticSabre 3 points4 points5 points 12 months ago
First time I actually saw this show was last night, and it was awful. Most of the mothers were basically just playing with their big barbie doll, that really didn't want to be involved in it. I'm all for shutting those pageants down.

Reddit has now allowed Anderson Cooper and CNN to be its censor. Congratulations Reddit. I wish I had known, I wouldn't have just paid for another year of Reddit Gold. I won't again, even though I only went there once to see the thumbnails to understand what it was about. Censorship is anathema.
[–]easyIsle 13 points14 points15 points 12 months ago
but should reddit allow illegal activity? I dont think so. thats why it was shut down. 25 or so people asking for noods of "14 year old ex girlfriend" pic. which would be 100% illegal
[–]dtrainusmc 10 points11 points12 points 12 months ago
Then you can go to one of dozens of subreddits explaining how to illegally download pirated content via usenet and VPNs.
[–]easyIsle 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago*
it is legal to ask how to pirate, and to read an article that tells you how to. However, its illegal to actually do it. You cant pirate on reddit so reddit admins have no place in trying to stop you from pirating.
Same is true for pot .. you can post all the pictures you want of marijuana and it will never be illegal. However, (in some places) you cant possess or smoke marijuana. Since you can do neither on reddit, reddit admins have no place in enforcing it.
In contrast, it is purely illegal to ASK for child porn on reddit, or any where else. Reddit admin can enforce this, and should when it is done so blatantly. I dont like censorship either, but I like abiding to law. If they didnt, they could be in trouble themselves... and no one wants that over our heads.
[–]dtrainusmc 5 points6 points7 points 12 months ago
I guess I see your point. I'm not arguing against what happened to Jailbait. I'm just worried it creates a precedent.
Also, I find it troubling that jailbait has existed for a long time now and there have been instances of CP where the OP was banned and the material deleted. ONLY after CNN did a report about it, all of a sudden, it gets shut down. Do you think this is the first time Reddit admins were aware of CP being traded via PM?
My problem is that deleting the subreddit isn't going to stop people from spreading CP on Reddit. There are still plenty of teen girl subreddits this could happen in.
It just smells like a PR move instead of actually doing something to combat the original offense. Guess that's my biggest problem. They didn't do it for the good of Reddit, they did it because AC made a stink about it.
[–]easyIsle -1 points0 points1 point 12 months ago
I hear ya ... I had the same worries.
I think a big part of the problem was all the influx of non-redditors that the CNN broadcast caused. These people had no care for reddit rules and probably arrived straight to /r/jailbait for that purpose alone. Once that happened .. it got a lot worse... people demanding and posting boardline CP much more blatently than before. Which means reddit admins could not ignore it anymore. Put yourself in their position ..
For more, There was some great discussion here by people who have a much better way with words than I. 7,000 comments plus, highly recommended to ease your worries.
[–]dtrainusmc 2 points3 points4 points 12 months ago
And I don't blame the Reddit admins. They have a responsibility to Conde, which I'm sure where the order originated.
I don't have a problem with what they did to Jailbait. I just wish people would call it like it was. Jailbait was giving Reddit bad PR. This wasn't about "making Reddit a better place" or "doing it for the children". If CNN hadn't ran that report, jailbait would still exist. While I don't cry over the fall of Jailbait, I just hope this doesn't give other organizations motive to start a PR campaign against other popular subreddits. However, as I noted in another post, many other horrific subreddits are still in existence, which makes me believe that this is a one time incident. Hopefully.
[–]violentacrez 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
They have a responsibility to Conde, which I'm sure where the order originated.
You do realize Conde Nast has not owned reddit for quite some time, right?
[–]dtrainusmc -1 points0 points1 point 12 months ago
Why the fuck would I post that if I knew?
I just wanted to point out how ignorant you are of the entire situation. It affects the credibility of your entire argument.
[–]ppcpunk 2 points3 points4 points 12 months ago
Well first off, how do we even know said person was 14? I don't think anyone asked specifically for CP. I think they asked for the rest of the photos. Yes the person posting said she was 14 but that doesn't make it so. Someone who wanted to shut that sub reddit down could have went and found a picture of a perfectly legal aged person from a random porn web site and posted it on there pretending it to be their ex girlfriend. People were doing similar things in reddit.com/r/gonewild.
So here we are dissecting thought crime. Was it legal to ask for the rest of the pictures because you thought said person was 14? Maybe none of them thought she was, maybe they all thought she was. I have no idea but this whole idea that people were blatantly trading CP in the open on reddit is just completely untrue.
blatantly requesting CP in the open
http://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments/l6neu/dozens_of_reddit_posters_hound_the_op_for_nude/
the screen shot has since been deleted, but you can find copies in the comments.
btw, no one "thought" she was 14. these people were TOLD she was 14 by the person posting the picture (claiming to be her old boyfriend). until you can identify this person and the date of the image .. you go with the source: she is 14 as pictured.
plus ... use your brain; if anything, dude would lie and say shes 18 but looks young .. dontcha think? Because then it wouldnt be illegal.
As it stands [stood], only Pedos would request nudes in the comments of that post. Or if not pedos .. at least people I'd rather not share any reddit with.
censorship sucks but would you rather reddit gets shutdown for allowing that to continue (and maybe worsen with all the new traffic?). this was a necessary evil or they would not have done it.
tl;dr: i disagree it was the media attention SOLEY that caused it. the influx of people + media attention + behaviors of these new people is what caused it.
[–]ppcpunk 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago

why do you so want reddit to defend free speech, when the are have no requirement to do so, at the cost of getting in trouble with law costing them both money and time? or at the very least, just receive additional law enforcement/public scrutiny for hosting such borderline-legal discussion forums?
now all of the pedos need to find their pedo elsewhere. why is that so "end of the world" to you??
[–]ppcpunk -1 points0 points1 point 12 months ago
What are you not understanding? There was no CP in that sub reddit. Some people launched a campaign to fuck with reddit and used people like yours stupid outrage about something that wasn't illegal to change how reddit works and now they are sitting there laughing at you for being a pawn and you STILL don't get it
All you are going to do is sit there and try to rationalize it to the tune of something like "well it still doesn't matter, I didn't like the sub reddit anyway so I don't care." It's not nice speech that needs to be protected, it's not nice speech that needs to be protected.
Reddit advertises itself as a pro free speech site, which is part of the reason why that sub reddit existed, it's not relevant if they do or do not have a "requirement" to do anything.
im not understanding your arguments because they defy logic. It seems you are fighting for an ideal that you think reddit should have. It's your own feeling that you are defending because that ideal does not exist on this website.
Reddit advertises itself as a pro free speech site
so what if they do? Reddit did not grant you free speech rights. You are not entitled to them under any law because you do not own this website. or LikeYouAre5: They lied to you and you believed them, you silly goose!
Neither the word free nor the word speech appears in the user agreement that every single person agreed to by being here and continuing to load pages.
What DOES appear in the user agreement, is the following:
Service Provider has the right to terminate and/or suspend your ability to access the Website or any portion thereof, for any or no reason, without notice.
Why you think this should not apply to jailbait or any other section, I'll enver know.
It's not nice speech that needs to be protected, it's not nice speech that needs to be protected.
then what is it you are protecting, exactly?
you should protect whatever-the-fuck that is by starting a JailBait-Pedaler.com yourself, exercising your TRUE free speech rights to keep it hosted for all public to access. post the same content with comments and personal messaging. You can even legally copy reddit's code and use it!
If you did, you will learn very quickly how business and law enforcement works IRL versus the ideal you hold in your head. Good luck!
TL;DR: reddit is covering it's ass and you have zero grounds to change it. wanna argue that, too?
Being told she is 14 doesn't mean she is 14. It wasn't illegal in any case, she wasn't nude! What the fuck is so hard to understand. I hate to sound like the guy sticking up for kiddy porn and creepy weird guys staring at young girls but as creepy and weird as it is, it's not illegal to be creepy and weird.
You have no idea if they were pedos or people posing as valid account holders to start a fake shit storm.
[–]MerryMortician 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
you cant pirate on reddit
well.. I guess technically it's not ON reddit....
[–]bageloid 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
One of these things gets reddit shut down by the FBI. The other does not.
You're right, the other normally gets taken down by ICE or Dept of Homeland security.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 months ago
IANAL, so I don't know if asking for underage pix is illegal or not. But the proper response to this is to remove the offending posts and blacklist the offending IP addresses.
[–]derpaling 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
You don't understand the situation. They shut down the subreddit because it brought way too much attention. A number of dumbfucks didn't know how to behave properly, it's their fault.
No ban on this kind of content was issued. It's still there. Free speech is still there. Just this particular subreddit is gone. It was a smart thing to do to avoid potential legal issues/bad press.
read the original post. They did not shut it down because it "brought way too much attention". they shut it down because at least 20 people started requesting copies of child porn through PM in public.
whether or not THAT was caused by the new attention or not has no relevance. The "attention" you speak of was not that part that broke long established federal laws, which have the potential to get reddit.com and/or its parents in a lot of trouble had they not acted swiftly to curtail those requests.
Get the whole story by reading the three posts that happened before this one you are commenting on , please.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
I understand that the Corporate News Network was able to bring pressure on Reddit, and that Reddit folded.
[–]tmw3000 -1 points0 points1 point 12 months ago
If people care so much about non-nude photos of teenage girls (do what you want, I don't think it's bad/creepy, beyond the invasion of privacy part), then start a reddit clone for that purpose - the reddit code is open source.
But r/jailbait has been an embarrassment for reddit before Cooper, it doesn't matter if it's legal. Cool it with the fake censorship outrage.
[–]GundamWang 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
It's strange that deadjailbait wasn't deleted though. And a number of other ones similar or far worse than jailbait.
What fake censorship outrage? I am flat outraged by censorship.
[–]Figgots -1 points0 points1 point 12 months ago
I, also, am a self entitled docuhebag and enjoying flouting my money around to try and get shut down reddits back up.
[–]Lur_Ker 3 points4 points5 points 12 months ago
I doubt it. It's one thing to manipulate the public in order to generate outrage over a small section of a website but it is an entirely different thing to breed outrage against corporate media. You don't bite that hand that feeds, right? And, sadly, without the laser guidance provided by the media, moral guardians everywhere are simply lost as to where they should direct their cries of "think of the children!!!!!!".
[–]uber_coolio 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
I hate Chris Hansen. I think he sucks, not for the point of the show but his attitude. Who the fuck does he think he is?
[–]Skoolz 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
Can someone explain what I missed? Chris Hansen was always the pedo-protector and thus jokes revolved around him and his "To Catch a Predator" personality. What is Anderson Cooper doing that has made him replace Chris in this category? Did he take over the predator show?
[–]sherlocktheholmes 2 points3 points4 points 12 months ago
He did this report last week.
[–]Sarcasm_Llama 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
If anything mainstream is to be considered pedophile bait, this fucking show is it.
[–]Vert1go 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
Classic misdirection....
[–]AegisSC 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
Sister networks. Sorry, can't tou ch that.
[–]peaknuckle 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago*
Anderson Cooper didn't do shit except say a couple of things. It's the Reddit community that got butthurt and decided to upvote everything associated with the story that assumingly poked the higher ups to remove r/jailbait. Not closing the associated subreddits is basically them saying "no one gave a shit and was cool about it but you waved it around like a trophy".
[–]Monteze 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
So, its okay for shit like this to be on air because is "helps" the kids self-esteem... Yet some parents get judges because they spank/discipline their kids. ..
[–]SonsOfLiberty86 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago*
Anderson Cooper, CIA spy...
He didn't get the subreddit taken down
It was people controlling the site
[–]Surfacetovolume 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
I near start throwing things at the tv
This kills the TV.
[–]me_gustavo 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
This. A thousand times this. Bring on the buffet of upvotes, that you may heartily feast on our mutual indignation, the product of this hypocrisy.
[–]HelpWithGame 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
It was shut doown because people were distributing and asking for cp, not because of cooper.
[–]LessLikeYou 4 points5 points6 points 12 months ago
Anderson Cooper is the media equivalent of a Redditor who posts obvious facts as TIL's for karma.
[–]nicknjohnny -1 points0 points1 point 12 months ago
I find this babypageant thing utterly disgusting. I would be ashamed of this whole industry if I was an American.
[–]CBSniper 12 points13 points14 points 12 months ago
What a clever discreet way to take potshots at Americans, even though a large number of us have nothing to do with this and nothing to be ashamed of.
[–]nicknjohnny 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
I think having a legal industry based on aesthetic judgements of little children is quite fucked up. And obviously enough of you both watch and participate in this to keep it going.
[–]CBSniper 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
"enough of you" being wildly undefined. You generalized it as every single American should feel bad, instead of viewers of the show. Oh, and I'm sure there are overseas viewers as well. Stop generalizing Americans as a single unit, and realize that individuals are just that - individual.
Yes, I blatantly generalize in this issue. And I find it fascinating that you feel threatened by this. Do you really feel that having nothing to do with it makes it ok? This is child exploitation at best and to me it's unnerving that every single American is not ashamed.
[–]oholysmokes 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
Im sure the regulars of r/jailbait are clinging to that for life.
[–]tmw3000 1 point2 points3 points 12 months ago
r/jb was about young women (pregnancy-ability, biology doesn't care about American culture), the other is about actual children.
r/jb was creepy and embarrassing for reddit, but T&T is actual perversion.
[–]JC2535 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
You mean beyond a make over?
[–]vladtaltos 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
Never going to happen, they make money off of TNT, they don't off of /r/jailbait. Now, if reddit put a bunch of ads on /r/jailbait and then cut them in on the revenue, it's still be up and no one would have complained.
[–]Madonkadonk 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
Anderson Cooper is friend to children
[–]permanentmarker 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
LOL and I thought dog show people were weird.
[–]JohntheShrubber 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
Oh good. This thread again.
[–]SergeantKoopa 0 points1 point2 points 12 months ago
This shit makes me sick. The hotel I worked at used to (might still do) host a thing similar to this. The sales director fucking HATES that event so much. She was making some nasty remarks about it to me and I agree with her. The mothers of those little girls are some of the most ruthless, competitive, obsessive pricks I've ever met in my life. All these little toddler girls running around looking like miniature hookers creeped me the fuck out. But, of course, money unfortunately talks and given the economy we can't reasonably turn an event like that away because it brought in a lot of these people and rented out the banquet space.

Toddlers and Tiaras drives advertising dollars, naturally that has an established precedence.

South Park got it right. I love how the two male judges are taking pictures and masturbating during the pageant.

Yea, come on Anderson Cooper. Of course he probably won't do this because if it's on TV it's not bad. But the internet...fuck that noise!
