Beware of trading scammers!

A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports).

"Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

Posting Rules

  • Posts must be directly gaming-related. Thus, "generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission; similarly, reaction GIFs are also not appropriate as submissions.

  • Following Reddiquette is encouraged

  • No "general" URL shorteners (bitly, tinyurl, etc). Single-site URL shorteners (such as youtu.be or fav.me) are allowed.

  • No game or product giveaway of any kind

  • NSFW submissions and comments must be labeled

  • Spoilers can be posted using the following formatting:
    [X Kills Y](/spoiler)
    Result: X Kills Y.

  • To mark a spoiler as relevant to a specific game/topic, use the alternate formatting:
    [Player 1 wins](/spoiler "Pong")
    Result:
    Player 1 wins

  • Report posts containing spoilers not using the above method

  • Don't post users' personal information.

Submission Rules

Is your post not showing up? Do not delete it. Wait 5 minutes to give AutoModerator a chance to look at it; it approves most submissions automatically. If it hasn't shown up after more than 5 minutes, simply message the moderators and ask us to let it through.

Not really the same thing.

edit: but I agree it would be huge, but that's just space.

try traveling to every place, eve will be by far the longest to do so.

most of the space in eve you cannot go to. The only space you can get to is inside the systems. Over 99.9999% of space is not explorable.

Well with 8,000,000 meters2 to the farlands, thats 4,970 mi2 per world right? Not including the now infinite ocean that replaces the farlands.

It's 12,550,820 meters from the center of the map to the Far Lands. Which equates to about 243.3 million square miles total.

Add Everquest and Vanguard to that list, I bet they would both be much larger than anything else.

Is the huge mass of LOTRO explorable?

Or is it "Explorable" like daggerfall.

It is explorable, but it is also as sparse as Middle Earth. Lots of open space between cities and towns, but you can walk from The Shire to Forochet and the North Down, all the way to the Mines of Moria and even further into Isengard.

It stopped playing because it took too long to get anywhere by foot/hoof. Hunter class gets to fast travel to many places as a skill, could be helpful in a reroll.

Something's not right about this map. According to this, a small square grid of area in Burnout Paradise is of the same size as a mountain in Just Cause 2?

Now I gotta go play Just Cause 2 again.

Okay, It says that Daggerfall was 62,394 sq. mi. What the fuck?

A large part of the game was randomly generated. Towns were built out of the same set of buildings, so even though there were 15,000 of them, for the large part they felt pretty much the same.

I remember when this came up the first time. They showed THIS map, then next to a map of Minecraft. I'll look for it, but by mentioning it I'm sure someone else will find it faster than me.

The thing I love about WoW is that it is full of stuff. Everywhere has a purpose and something to do.
