You know, I'm a cyclist, and I HATE critical mass. I get it. I do. Sharing the roads with entitled road-raging gas-passers (I move that this is what we start calling automobile commuters from now on) sucks. Yes, cyclists can be entitled assholes too, but at least there's reason there. If a car fucks up, they have a bump in their car, but a cyclist can die when a car makes a mistake.

But CM is fighting fire with fire. What do we hate about gas-passers? Impoliteness, aggression, impatience. And CM only stokes these sentiments by stopping up traffic, and I don't for a second doubt that these cyclists were hitting this guy's car. I heard a story of CM in San Francisco that held up an ambulance and the patient inside died.

What we need is mayors who have bike-forward attitudes to incorporate bike-lanes, realize that bikes and cars are not the same and should have different rights and thusly have different sets of rules.
