I've seen this posted once before, according to people from that thread the wasps he was picking up had their stingers removed. So the only real risk was them biting.

Some people also theorized that the wasps at the beginning seem to be chilled, and then their activity picks up after being warmed by his hand.

take it from a pest control tech. no one would ever do that willingly if they ever had a run in with angry wasps. That said, their stingers being removed is possible but not likely.. i'd day them being frozen is a good call because they can and will take chunks out of your skin when they bite
