That's how it is in my house. I have a 12 year old15 pound Jack Russell and a 3 year old 80 pound Goldendoodle. The secret is the old Jack Russell is willing to go all in on the simplest of things such as a spot to lay or a toy. She will go batshit crazy and start growling and snapping while the doodle is just "WTF?"

My Irish Wolfhound does the same thing. It's not quite as clever a picture, but here he is sharing his giant bed with our old cat.

It always amuses me how dog pack hierarchy works in most households. I had a old, grumpy, fat dachshund mix who used to rule our other, larger dogs with an iron paw and an ugly snaggletooth.

She was also part Chihuahua so it was just feisty and more feisty. I used to call her our Wenniehuahua.

I love Irish Wolfhounds! I don't know if that's your dog, but whoever's it is, they are lucky. Except maybe for the food bills.

I've never owned a Wolfhound, but I once saw a nature documentary about them that opened with a long dolly shot, following one as sprinted across a field. It was absolutely breathtaking, the grace and wild abandon of that creature doing what it was bred to do.

As an owner of an eighteen month old Irish Wolfhound, I was surprised at how reasonably they eat for their size. They are a sight hound with bodies much like greyhounds, thin and lean. He eats probably 4-5 cups of food a day with a mix of brown rice and the occasional addition of fruit or veggie treats mixed in.

And he's pretty sure he's human... http://bit.ly/pVp5yo

Beautiful dogs. Not without problems though; they die very young (like most big breeds), I think 7 years is the average age. They also have many health issues.

This reminded me of when I traded books with my slut friend on the plane. I was given a Chelsea Handler book and she read about 10 pages of Ishmael before saying "Gorilla's are like people". Me - "It's a novel." Her - "I know but but science was different then." Me - takes ambien

My friend in college had an awesome Irish Wolfhound named Gracie. She was so huge she looked animatronic in person.

So one year at the dorms during Thanksgiving weekend, everyone had gone home except the Japanese exchange students. We snuck the Irish Wolfhound in through the elevator and knocked on Japanese girls' doors and moved out of the way so they'd just open the door to a MASSIVE dog walking into their room. Great day for screams :)

I was told that I bought a labradoodle puppy when I got my dog last year from a shelter... well he's not that, but he looks JUST like your dog.

What kind of dog is that?

In my teen years, we had an Irish wolfhound. He would always sleep on my queen size bed with me, which was really comical. Either he would put his hits in the center and sleep like the dog in the picture or he would sleep with his back right up against mine, and then roll on me... a lot. Fun times.

That wolfhound gets points for trying, but a demerit for not kicking that beagle's ass.

My pitbull has no problem rectifying this when the cat takes his bed.
