some suffer too much. Others too little. All beings are worthy of compassion(Buddha).

This picture pretty much sums it up. If you are interested, I highly recommend checking out this video for a better understanding of exactly how the bankers are screwing us over. Knowledge is everything, and the mainstream outlets are doing their damndest to make sure we are dumb, distracted, and submissive.

This is a bit simplistic/trite.

Obviously, given the incredible money needed to get elected, in particular in light of citizens united, any party will be warped by money. That being said, the GOP has and is fighting for banking deregulation and against consumer protections for years. They are currently trying to gut both the CPA and Dodd-Frank as if they hadn't weakened it enough when it passed.

The bottom line is, neither party ever make decisions with your best interests at heart. Corporate Lobbying defines our legislation, and these guys are just trying to appease you long enough so they can get their piece of the pie. Sorry bro...

They go where the votes are but they recognize that votes seem to correlate with money. If you want them to do otherwise, you need to get the big corporate money out of elections. The best way to do that is with tax funded elections but we're too stupid for that. We have the democracy we deserve.

In any event, let's say we didn't have half the country, the right, consistently begging the congress to give more money to the rich and deregulate. Would not still have the regulations that kept us from having all the financial catastrophes that we've had since Reagan? Would we not have regulated derivatives? Would we not have stronger environmental protections? Would we not have the CPA?

So, in absolute terms there's truth in what you say but in relative terms there's a vast quantifiable difference between the two parties.
