Wow, are you 12? "I know you are, but what am I?" Seriously though, if you see the thumbnail and you' ve seen it before, downvote and move on. In what way is the context old? The episode in question aired like 24 hours before my post. Sure the photo has been seen before, but notice the first few comments were people who had not seen it before. /retort

In no way did I demonstrate childish behavior. I did not call you a name. I did not insult you personally. The context is the same because it is an overused meme being applied in an overused way. And people not having seen an image in no way justifies its overuse. They will be just as happy with something new and fresh. Those of us who have been around a little longer will feel stimulated by the new content. Bogging down reddit with old memes just because someone may or may not have seen it creates content stagnation. And as for downvoting and moving on, you just responded to my comment. In what way are you standing behind your words of "downvote and move on"?

For one, look through my comments. Do you see me bitching about reposts? Not once. If I don't like a post or feelit is a repost I pass it by, or maybe give it a downvote. I agree, new contenr is the lifeblood of reddit. However, a clever rehash of "old content" is new content. If reddit doesn't like over used memes, why do they still make it to the frontpage? Thank you for your input, I can kind of see where you are coming from, it has been pleasant to see your take one it.

I never said anything about you complaining about reposts. I didn't find the use to be particularly clever, so I said something. I feel like rehashed content makes the front page so often because it gives people a sense of being included in something. And that's fine. A core concept of a meme is its wide application to many daily things. But I also think reddit takes it way too far. Its gotten to the point were I see almost no original content and very little effort to create any. The site is getting very popular. More "pedestrian" level traffic is to be expected. But I feel like its getting out of control. With all these new people coming in, I really hoped I'd see an increase- however so slight- in original content. This in every sense, makes me butthurt. I will cop to that. But the butthurt (say that 4 times fast) is not without reason. I'm glad we could both come to a logical point of disagreement and not resort to youtube style name calling. May the reddit ether be kind to you.

Same to you, have an upvote. That's reddit for you. I feel you on the original content thing. I initially tried posting oc stuff, never any upvotes, I think many have the same experience, thus we get all these 99% posts as of late.
