I don't care what people who DO use Reddit think about Reddit.

Normally, I would agree, but when said people who "don't use Reddit" have the power to spread misconceptions and discredit Reddit, then it becomes a problem.

Basically, there is attention being drawn to parts of Reddit that doesn't not define the site, however the entire site is being judged according to it.

So, yeah. People who use Reddit could be negatively affected because of this. This may no longer be a site free of censorship.

What we should do is draw media attention away from reddit by pointing out all the truly sick shit posted on 4chan.

On a serious note, though, I do not want to use a site that is associated in the popular consciousness with CP.

I bet Reddit got a huge boost in traffic after someone on national television said "Go to reddit.com to get child porn." I mean, we're talking senators, CEOs, clergymen all visiting our site by the thousands thanks to that bit of masterful journalism.
