Beware of trading scammers!

A subreddit for anything related to games (but not sports). "Related" means that posts must contain gaming-related content in the link/post body, not just a "forced" connection via the title or a caption added to the content.

"Generic" image macros/memes (where the character itself is not related to gaming) like Scumbag Steve, Good Guy Greg, etc. will be removed. Something that "reminds you of a game", or "looks like something from a game" is also not an appropriate submission.

There have been 6 updates this year, and one optional update. So "Every damn time" is true only if you use your ps3 once every 1 and a half months.

As someone who uses it daily, updates seem very rare.

The one thing they should fix is the "Background download not available" bullshit, if you can install updates off a usb, why can't we download the update data to the hdd in the background?

I chuckled because this happened to me a few minutes ago. Thought about checking out the BF3 beta, turn it on, start update download and go do something else instead then. Still, I don't mind it considering my PS3 use this year has gone down considerably. If I haven't turned the thing on in a month or two, then it's quite understandable for there to be an update to download when you come back to it.

Same thing with my PSP, I have to update it every time I turn it on. I was thinking about getting the Vita, but now I might do the PS3 for Uncharted series and Blu-rays.

really? i have wifi disabled on my psp, and only run updates when a game requires it, PSN on the psp is pretty much only the store for me, and sony isnt getting my creditcard data.

I think the last time i updated it was to acces the store and download the "welcome back" games, which i havent even played yet..

Every time I have to do an update it tells me I have to charge the device because I can't do it while it's plugged in. I always seem to finish charging it and forget to do the update and put the psp back in my drawer for another 6 months. I don't like it.

I don't always use my PS3, but when I do, I don't have to wait for it to update because that's optional

FTFY. I haven't updated by PS3 since January, and I usually play it a couple of times a week.

it's easy to get on netflix without psn when it prompts you to sign-in just press O and it loads normally

Only sometimes. It often just hangs and doesn't load after this, or says that it requires you be signed in to work. And, of course, if the Netflix launcher itself needs to be updated you're screwed.

ps: I don't use it very often because I simply don't like this console. Even the microwave like beep at the startup is anyoing. the XMB is slow as fuck...
