Just saying, the chicken egg fails the logic because the eggs we eat aren't fertilized. I don't know of anyone that eats fertilized chicken eggs.

Nowadays eggs are produced in factories (you can't call that horrible places where they lock up those poor hens something else), but back in the days, people had a few hens and a rooster. And yes, when the rooster wasn't a complete failure, some of the eggs that were eaten were fertilized. There's no big difference, at least as long as you don't hatch it.
