Looking for an image subreddit with minimal rules? Check out /r/images

A place to share interesting photographs and pictures. Feel free to post your own, but please read the rules first (see below), and note that we are not a catch-all for general images (of screenshots, comics, etc.)

Spoiler code

Please mark spoilers like this:

Hover over to read.

Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), weight loss photos, posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. Weight loss photos go in /r/loseit, DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

Have you ever considered the idea that homosexuality defies the continuation of our species? Perhaps the reason why a lot of people (even non-Christians) question homosexuality is that it doesn't make sense. I don't need somebody to say, "Well, let me educate you." When I say that it doesn't make sense, I mean, why do countless people try to defend homosexuality when it's not even helping the human race? Are they reproducing? No. Because they're with the same sex. It just doesn't make sense. I don't hate homosexuals. In fact, I have a bunch of gay friends. But the idea that homosexuality is okay, is kind of dumb because it doesn't help the human race at all.

And if you think that zoological examples of homosexuality defend your view, then tell me, if homosexuality is so great, why doesn't everyone be gay? Maybe because there would be no procreation and the human race would ultimately end. It's not necessarily a Christian agenda. sometimes it just comes down to common sense.

Do I hate homosexuals? No. Do I hate people who hate homosexuals? No. I don't give gays a hard time. It's just that in my own mind, I think people who defend it are kind of ridiculous.

I guess I'm one of the ones who think that it's more important to live and let live. I'm not a proponent of homosexuality itself, but rather I think it's wrong for people to be discriminated against, beaten up, murdered, etc., simply for their sexual preference.

Of course homosexuality precludes procreation, I mean without a sperm donor, turkey baster, and willing female host, a gay or lesbian couple will find it difficult to pass on their genetic heritage and produce offspring.

At the core it's the judging of people who are homosexual simply because they are homosexual that bothers me, much as racism does.

Its strange how you assume that the only way to help the human race is to reproduce. Infact, I would say the human race might be a lot better if there was very steep decline in reproduction.

Do you ever do something you enjoy or makes you happy? You are probably not helping the human race when you do. Have you ever had a hobby? I bet your hobby doesn't benefit a single person besides yourself. As humans we have the right to make ourselves happy without needing to better every other person around them.

Which one seems like a repost now?

What've you got against reposts? Just because they're different doesn't mean they're bad!

I don't mind a repost. I would just like 24 hours to pass before seeing it again.

Tell the repost bureau (unfortunately though they're harder to get through to than the DMV).

I have nothing against homosexuality, but it really infuriates me when they try to describe it as natural.

In zoology, cannibalism is the act of one individual of a species consuming all or part of another individual of the same species as food. Cannibalism is a common ecological interaction in the animal kingdom and has been recorded for more than 1500 species [1] It does not, as once believed, occur only as a result of extreme food shortages or artificial conditions, but commonly occurs under natural conditions in a variety of species.

Why do we try and use examples of animals to support or denounce human morals?

I don't think morality is the basis of this, but rather the fact that there is a precedence for homosexuality in nature, implying that it may be a natural state of being rather than an aberration. Morality then enters the picture when people for example take verses from the Bible (e.g. "man shall not lie with man as with woman") and interpret that to mean homosexuality is wrong according to the human construct that is religious doctrine.
