Well, first off I want to appologize for ripping off explotism seeing how awesome their comics are, hence why I wanted to share this one with reddit. Secondly, the only reason why I hard linked it was because I thought it was basically the same thing. Until Medlvidar explained it how he did. Why I hard linked

So, I had no intent on ripping them off, and will in the future make sure the source is correct to give the author proper credit.

Appreciate the sentiment OP, but gotta agree with Kowzorz. Please link to the comic, otherwise you deny the creator the benefits they would get if people checked the pic out on their site.

i knew someone would bitch about this, someone always does (nothing personal against you.)

has anyone ever brought up the point that if people truly wanted to see more strips from the same comic, they could figure it out on their own and visit the actual site? hence, no need for anyone to be anal about imgur vs. linking to picture vs. linking to page.

Its not the more-strips-seeing that is the problem. Its the thousands of hits this link generates that don't get ad revenue. And worse, in this scenario, it's a direct link to the image so they still have to pay for bandwidth. It's one thing to rehost it on imgur. That's a net 0. But linking directly to the image is a net loss to the creators.

Here's how I see it: the comic I just enjoyed actually COST the creator more $$$ than it made him. I don't really feel like browsing explosm tonight, so despite the fact I like them and often visit them, I did them a disservice tonight, thanks to brillo90.
