The whole season hinges on the fistfight he had with Jesse. From that point on, Jesse has been the protagonist and Walt is just another asshole trying to get what he can out of Jesse.

Gotta give em credit for being the first second show to have the balls to replace its protagonist. Of course, I suspect Walt will work his way back into the viewers' graces unlike poor Ned...

Lucky for me I've never worried about spoilers. If something is spoiled because I know what happens, it means that how it happens isn't compelling enough (MY opinion, you may enjoy things differently). Will do.

I think the last anything from the fantasy genre I liked was Time Bandits (or Neverending Story if that came later... too lazy to check).

Having said that, Game of Thrones is ridiculous good. It's not quite Breaking Bad good since that show single-handedly redeemed the invention of television for me, but it's incredibly well crafted and the characters are absolutely compelling. Like ocram said, watch it.

I thought I might like it based upon the many positive reviews and gave it a fair shot by watching the first full season, but I just didn't find any of the characters nor any of the story lines particularly interesting.

Maybe it got better in the later seasons, but what I saw just didn't convince me to invest the time to watch the rest. Winter is coming though, so maybe I'll give it another go.

This season I have been sad that I'm not rooting for Walt anymore, but I'm ok with that right now. I like having no idea how anything will go down since there's not an obvious 'good guy' for the show to protect.

Probably downvotes because he's the star of the show. That would be an incredible climax to the series, both because it is something that completely makes sense in the context of the show and because it would leave audiences reeling.

My only complaint was that the shot of the floor over Walter as the camera moved up was very obviously a composite. It wasn't very smooth, and the edges of the "hole" were clipping really bad. Other than that, fucking awesome!

If you can watch it in HD quality, look at the edges of the hole. It looks like they used a mask to put his shot in (because it would have been very difficult to shoot it practically) like they would for TV screens. But, probably because they shook the camera as it raised up, it looks like the mask's edges flop around and aren't consistent with the real edges of the hole.

Does that make sense? I probably notice it more because I went to school for film and can see those tricks (along with editing tricks) easier than most people.

Go listen to the podcast. They say that the crawl space and closet is a single set that is not part of the house set. So looking up is actually looking up from the crawl space, and same down.

They also said they decided against stabilizing the last shot because it didn't look organic at all. So they kept in the bumps.
