Trigger discipline would quote that you keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to fire, and not to point any firearm at anything you're not willing to destroy, and as ex-military I'm sure he would have known that. As a gun enthusiast his lack of trigger discipline added to the scene! He WAS ready to fire and he WAS willing to destroy Smokey.

His backstop would have saddened him to hit though...bowling pins. :)
