  1. Complain about reposts. Just because you have seen it before doesn't mean everyone has. Votes indicate the popularity of a post, so just vote. Keep in mind that linking to previous posts is not automatically a complaint; it is information. Votes indicate how the community values information, so just vote.

  2. Complain about a story being old. Reddit is about interesting stuff, not new stuff only. Just hide the story.

The energy and time you've wasted on this thread is 100x more energy than what is required to simply downvote and move on. You fail to grasp the fact that I disagree with you on a fundamental level. I'm not saying that EVERYTHING you can do is futile and the situation sucks, I'm saying that I'm happy with the repost and people like you complaining about it are not going to change anything. A better use of your time would be to simply downvote this and move on because others might not have seen it. If something is getting a lot of upvotes then chances are it's new to a bunch of people. It's not all about you.

Oh man, I'm glad you said that. It makes it very easy for me to walk away from a conversation when I know the other person is in it for all the wrong reasons. An argument is an exchange of ignorance whereas a discussion is an exchange of knowledge.
