  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), weight loss photos, posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. Weight loss photos go in /r/loseit, DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

Is this really a first world problem? An inane or minor problem, surely, but couldn't someone in the third world encounter the exact same issue? Especially given that many impoverished countries have poor foot care. Just throwing that out there. :)

I think first world problems are problems that people in the first world complain about because they don't have bigger problems to complain about, not necessarily things only people in the first world can experience. Of course, there's a ton of overlap between those two categories.

If you want to get technical, a lot of people in third world countries don't wear shoes, so their feet are generally very calloused from walking around in bare feet.

Also, how in the hell can you tickle yourself? I've never been able to "tickle" myself on any part of my body. I touch my feet, or armpits, or sides, or anywhere else that I'm very ticklish when other people do it, and get essentially zero sensation in the same manner.

I don't think you understand what a first world problem is: it's not a problem exclusive to first world countries, it's something unimportant to someone in the third world because they have bigger things to worry about, while we don't. Basically, anything that is not actually a big deal.

I don't think so. I think that it has to imply a problem with something that is itself a vital and beneficial part of living in a developed country. So, for example, complaining about your cable being out is a first world problem, because you actually have cable. Complaining about your tap water being lukewarm is a first world problem, because you still have functional running water.

However, complaining about something minor, like a hangnail or a backache or being too hot is not a first world problem if it doesn't hinge upon living in a developed nation. At least, that's how I see it.

Actually mine don't tickle anymore. I have always had extremely itchy feet even though I shower every day and scrub my feet with soap when I do. As a result of constantly scratching even as a teenager, the feeling from the bottom of my feet has left and I can scratch with no problems.

The skin on my feet tends to dry up, I find that using moisturiser occasionally help a lot. Without it I have nasty looking flakey feet.
