Absolutely terrifying behind the scenes footage

[–]ReverendSin 4 points5 points ago

This might just be me, but I always found that while Olympic Sprinter zombies are a terrifying thought, the slow implacable stride of Jason Voorhees was probably the most terrifying thing I could imagine. It doesn't matter how fast you run, just when you think you've gotten away there he is. You might get away one or two times, but he's a living Metaphor for Death, slow and steady and he always wins.

[–]Scotoman 8 points9 points ago

That is scary because World War Z zombies should be slow and it looks like they're ignoring the book.

His character on Breaking Bad alternates from a boring suburban dad to a meth manufacturer who will do anything to protect his way of life. Cancer makes him face his own mortality, and his dark side begins to dominate his former self.

Breaking Bad is awesome.

one thing I would recommend is don't try and watch it at once, pace it out. Breaking bad is by no means light, there a whole crap tone of drama and tragedy. Watching just a few episodes back to back can be emotionally draining.

Do you find the episodes more entertaining this season because you have to wait a whole week to know what going to happen next? Yes I watched all the episode back to back to when I found the series :)

[–]Hoobleton 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I find there's a lot more tension this season, partly because of the way the plot is going, but also because I have to wait a week between episodes. For the past three seasons if an episode ended on a cliffhanger, i'd just watch the next one straight afterwards.

I- I wish I could tell him! Good God, imagine going over your lines for Malcolm in the Middle, wishfully daydreaming about being taken seriously as an actor by the countrymen and critics, then being told you would be the lead role on the best (or one of the best) show on television that's also super serious and takes an awesome amount of acting power.

Also, you get lots of nude scenes.

...but they aren't sexy, unfortunately.

Please watch at most one episode a day. As a TV and movie critic, I have to say Breaking Bad is the best show on TV right now. No other show could even come close the the writing and acting. It reminds me of Lost when after each episode you have the holy shit face and want more!

so there ISN'T an episode of Malcolm in the Middle where Hal starts making meth?

I'm in the middle of watching the show back to back and from reading reddit I seriously thought that would happen.

[–]captainondeck 40 points41 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

That would make Breaking Bad the best spin concept show ever.

[–]Ducttape2021 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

There is an episode about a meth lab in the garage and has nothing to do with Hal, if I remember right. That's about it, though.

[–]diggmeordie 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Yep, it's that episode when Francis's scumbag friends Richie (and others) take over the house. There's also a King of Hill episode where Connie's inner-city cousin visits and helps Bobby unknowingly make crystal meth for a school science fair project.

Who are you talking to right now? Who is it you think you see? Do you know how much I make a year? I mean, even if I told you, you wouldn’t believe it. Do you know what would happen if I suddenly decided to stop going into work? A business big enough that it could be listed on the NASDAQ goes belly up. Disappears. It ceases to exist without me—no. You clearly don’t know who you’re talk to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger. A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!

[–]chief-awesome 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

the 2 best scenes that show his transformation are probably: 1) the scene where he's telling skyler that he's the one who stands at the door with the gun, after worrying about the consequences of Gale's death, and 2) the scene where Walt is going in for his check-up and talking to the guy who is in for his first check-up of the post chemo (i think that's what their check-ups were about), and Walt tells that guy that he's always in control, that e never loses control of his life, but either way this man is fucking great to watch

Malcom in the Middle is a show that deserves a revisit. What I mean is, when it was on the air I think a lot of people (myself included) took it for granted. But upon revisiting it, it really is a quirky and brilliant show.

It was underrated. As a family sitcom, it was better than most. BUT in it's later seasons the humor went truly bizarre. It became a different show once the majority of the cast were no longer children and was very amusing.

[–]theironkilt 16 points17 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

What is a crying shame is there are so many A, B, and even C list actors who have just as wide a range, but due to the overly narrow-minded way television and film is cast they're limited to doing a handful of 'types' because that's the best way to sell them.

[–]hmmwellactually 7 points8 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Probably due to the rampant nepotism in the TV and film industry as well.

[–]Happy0 8 points9 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

When I read this at first, I thought you had said 'neopetism', and tried to figure out parallels between neopets and the TV and film industry. Then I read it again.

[–]sje46 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Can you give an example?

While I don't doubt that this happens, many actors are character actors and stay with a role because that's what they're comfortable in.

[–]theironkilt 2 points3 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Actors like Adam Sandler like to stay in roles they're comfortable with. Most actors who value the art of acting crave to be challenged creatively. It's the difference of people who look at acting as a job, and therefore focus on what they do best, and those who look at it as an art, or a form of expression.

Look back to Marlon Brando, or Al Pacino, both actors who, in their early careers, took differing and difficult roles for the love of it, versus their later careers, where it became just a job, and they began to take easy work that let them work within their expected comfort zones (I realize the godfather was later in marlon brando's career but I think that is an exception)

I suppose I will grant you that a lot of actors who have a background in film and television prefer to work within a certain area probably because there is a superficial level of "THIS is what I do." so most of them aren't bothered to experiment.

[–]LOLtex 6 points7 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

This is gonna be the second time I defend Adam Sandler today, but he's branched out quite a bit on his roles. I might give you that if we were back in 2001, but since then, he's done many vastly different films. His production company, however...

[–]ronintetsuro 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

His production company went the Wayans Brothers route. And it pains me to say that, I remember a time when they were considered INNOVATORS.

[–]theironkilt 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Actually, you're right, Adam Sandler was a bad example because he has branched out recently. How about Shia Lebouf? Or late career Jack Nicholson? Or perhaps even Harrison Ford, even though his career is full of awesome roles, they've all sort of fallen into the same type.

That character was ridiculous. Complete hard ass to sarcastic dick to super nice buddy to depressed in a matter of a couple seconds. I really enjoyed the episodes he was in.

As soon as I read this I started watching the episode of Netflix. I'm surprised I've never seen it, but if there were any I'd never seen it would be a Doggitt/Reyes episode. This is kinda great though, cause it's a big nod to "War of the Coprophages". Scully even gets her own sexy entomologist. And you know who would have been fucking stellar in the role of sexy entomologist Dr. Rocky? Bryan Fucking Cranston

[–]highramblings 1 point2 points ago

Yeah, it's definitely a good one. I love Jane Lynch as the mom in this episode, too.

I'm so happy for all the acclaim/work he's getting. In my opinion, he's like the Tom Hanks no one really noticed until now. I'm just hoping to see him in a film role (probably post Breaking Bad) where he gets to lead and not just play a supporting character.

He's such a great actor. I can't recall him in a bad episode of anything.

He was once in Kevin Smith's Clerks The Animated Series. It always cracked me up. Check it out:

Breaking bad comes after Malcolm in the Middle. His family dies in a head on collision with a transport truck on the way home from Francis' funeral. Francis died in military action. He then remarried to a woman with a handicapped son. Now he has cancer and sells meth.

Timeline issues?

His name is Bryan Cranston, for those wondering. I wish people would name actors rather than assume everyone knows/recognizes.

As soon as i saw this scene, i knew it was from Malcolm, and it was the scene where Hal was jumping thru the neighborhood on spring shoes. And how all the neighborhood guys were jealous. The he got a go-cart and was driving and then the jealous guys had the spring shoes. Cranston made that show.

...Am I the only one who didn't like this show? Malcolm was an egotistical douche, his older brother was an idiot(Yes, I'm aware he was supposed to.), his mom was an overbearing bitch, and the dad was a complete imbecile who had no idea how to take care of children. Yes, I understand it's a TV show. yes, I understand the general American public finds dysfunctional families funny, but come on. And now...
