In 1942 a club in Boston called the Cocoanut Grove had a fire which killed 492 people. The fire killed so many people because the only real entrance/exit to the club was a revolving door which quickly jammed with bodies. As a result the building and fire codes today all make sure that all revolving doors fold flat if pushed on in certain ways so they don't jam. Some revolving doors have this button which stops the rotation and folds the "wings", so disabled people (like on wheelchair) can come through.

I can't see in the vid if anyone pressed such button on the outside, or it was just a malfunction. Either way, a true WTF moment.

Actually, you can see someone at the top of frame attempting to push the revolving door in the opposite direction it was already going. So you have one person pushing counterclockwise and another person in a hurry and pushing hard clockwise. Boom.

Yeah; the collapsing thing is an emergency feature. In the event people swarm the exit (fire or whatever), the doors are held into a cross pattern by cables under tension. Sufficient pressure to collapse these- such as people in a panic to escape- will cause them "fold," as is seen in the video. Not sure why the glass broke; it's clearly tempered glass, because it breaks into small nuggets, rather than long shards. Tempered glass of this type is extremely strong; I've gone at it with a Halligan tool while serving as a firefighter and had it bounce right off.

Ahh I see, perhaps he pushed the door the wrong direction, and when the outside guy walked up he activated the automatic spinning thing. A lot of the doors like this start whirling when you get close.

If I remember correctly, revolving doors like this can fold themselves up flat to allow for lots of people to exit during an emergency (such as a fire) - notice that the part of the door on the right just before it happens starts moving backwards. If nobody had been in the way, 3 parts would be facing inwards and 1 part outwards.

My guess is that a fire alarm or something similar went off while the person was unfortunate enough to be inside.

It turns out someone tried to enter the revolving doors ont he wrong side. theyre probably made to collapse togethor by pushing on them (kind of like how you can push open an automatic sliding door and stuff) but since someone was in there when the doors collapsed he got hit with lots of glass.

To add insult to injury. the guy then just leaves the area after realizing he nearly killed someone by being an idiot.

Still, I prefer gifs for reddit videos, because they're usually a short clip anyway, and watching anything else on the phone is a bitch. Youtube's kinds ok with the app, but still slower than gif.

Even first gen ipads let you double press the home button for switching between running apps. if it's an iphone or ipod touch, I believe all 3rd gen or later have the same feature on iOS 3.0 or later. I have a 2nd gen ipod touch, though, so I can't confirm this.
