Seen it before. If I recall correctly, it was seen on the huge screen at the stadium and the woman was boo'ed for a long time.

Furthermore, the kid got a signed ball from one of the baseball players, so ~~it's all justified~~ all balance in the universe has been restored.

I'm not sure this is exact information, but it's somewhat close to at least.

Same damn thing happened to me.

When I was in the 4th grade, I was at the Ranger's Ballpark in Arlington (that's what they called it in those days...) to see Tampa Bay play the Rangers. One of the dudes from the Ray's popped a fly and I, being my brilliant 4th grade self, held my glove out to catch it. The ball landed in my glove, popped out and hit me in the chest, and dropped to the ground in front of my seat. A 20-something in front of me snagged the ball from under my feet and gave it to the ugly girl he was with. I started crying, but not because I lost the ball - the ball broke a couple of my ribs. Did I get the ball back? No. And I'm still waiting on another fly ball to come my way...

I was at a Halifax Mooseheads (local hockey team) game last year. They were throwing out t-shirts before the third period. There were like 8 screaming 12-14 year olds behind me. I was 1 row down from them when a shirt came my way. So I leaped up, grabbed the shirt right in front of them all, then walked 2 rows down to an 8 year old kid who really wanted a shirt and gave it to him. Those girls gave me the nastiest glare for the rest of the game.

True story: When I was about 15 I was at a Kings hockey game. Puck deflected off the goalie, nailed me in the head. I slumped in my seat and it was a bit of madness but a woman sitting across the aisle came over to my seat, and scrambled to push me and get the puck. Don't remember much but next thing I know the usher ran down with a towel, I was picked up and taken to first aid. Thankfully nothing major happened except a huge bump and little blood so about 20 minutes later I came back to my seats. The woman who got the puck had apparently been told what she did...No apology and most certainly, no puck was given to me from her and everyone in our section gave her nasty looks and whispers the rest of the game. TIL Middle-aged woman at sports games are assholes.

True story: Got invited to a Dodgers game, tickets about 25 rows behind home plate. 4 of us guys were drinking beers, talking about what we would do if a foul ball came over the fence/net. We were looking at all the kids around us, deciding which one we would give the ball to. There was a kid right in front of us that was decked out in an expensive jersey, program, kinda tubby, eating cotton candy. We all agreed he wouldn't get it. We settled on a kid about 4 rows back with a little Oliver Twist in him; sickly, dirty clothes, but overall happy to be there. You can see where this is going... 5th inning, pop up right at us, ALMOST dropped my beer, but I caught it. Went 4 rows back and handed to the kid. Best part (though it shouldn't be): you could feel the pout just pouring off the kid in front of us. True story.

I've caught 3 foul balls in my days... 1-I was 12 and Will Clark fouled it, you bet your ass I kept it. 2-I gave it to some kid after he cried and mentioned that he wanted to go home because Tim Lincecum was his favorite player. 3-Matt Cain, my favorite player, threw this one to Jose Bautista and it fouled back and bounced right off the seats next to these rowdy frat kids and bounced right into my outstretched hand.
