There is also some pretty compelling evidence that during the last Ice Age, people from Europe made it to North America ... either by traveling along the shore in small boats ... possibly over hundreds of years, or by traveling over the ice itself.

The Clovis Culture may have come from Europe about 12,000 years ago, while there is evidence that the people who came here from Siberia may have been here for 23,000 to 30,000 years ... but the Clovis points kind of leave a "trail" starting with the Salutrean people in southern Europe, then Greenland, then Virginia, then New Mexico ... and eventually make their way all the way to Chile ... over a period of a few hundred years. The "points" got better pretty quickly and dramatically. That is also about the time that many large mammals in North and South America became extinct.
