I'm really sorry that I wasn't able to find the original source. But I'm really surprised about how old this video seems to be. I originally thought that the VHS/video effect has been implemented intensionally so that it resembles the old Cops episodes. I grew up in the early 90s, so I was too young for the original Star Wars releases, but old enough for the first revival with Timothy Zahn, X-Wing/Tie-Fighter/Rebel Assault on a 486, and watching the old, non-remastered movies on VHS. Ah, good old days...

    Or why they had a poorly guarded rear door in the first place with an AT-AT and all the other armaments in the front. I guess it was to lure the band into trying to attack it the back way - which makes sense, but you could have just given the illusion of that and that would have been WAYYYY smarter. Have a back door that leads nowhere and only SEEMS to lead to the control-room / reactor, while everything else is nicely safe and sound. Instead they let them get in there - place charges (!), and THEN they spring the trap - without killing them(!).

    Nice strategy. :P

    Really the entire concept of multi-legged vehicles that literally walk seems silly in a world with gravity-defying hovercrafts. Why saddle an AT-AT with the obvious structural weakness of having four legs when you can have essentially the same thing simply float through the air. It would prevent things like this

    Repulsorlift technology on a non-flight-capable unit has the small weakness of being vulnerable to high winds, such as those which were apparent during the battle of Hoth. That is not to say it couldn't be applied in areas of less inclement weather (i.e. forest moon of Endor), but the more armour a unit has, the harder a set of repulsors has to work, and AT-ATs are the heaviest armoured ground units out there, designed to take punishment from everything short of ship-based turbolasers and torpedoes. This is, of course, assuming the laws of physics apply in the Star Wars universe. Although one has to wonder why Clone Wars era troop transports were phased out in favour of armoured and barely armed Lambda-class shuttles...

    True. But they are scary as fuck, and the intimidation factor is probably worth the drawbacks of legged vehicles. Remember that the Empire was ruling an entire galaxy based entirely on fear. I doubt many local resistance forces would want to risk battle with a metal grizzly bear that shoots massive lasers.

        Excuse me? No they weren't. They were powered, originally, by power packs that Jedi and Sith would wear on their belts. Later designs moved the power supply to diatium power cells.

        You're thinking of the focusing crystals, which determined strength and accuracy, etc. Also, various colored crystals, whether mined from places like Ilum or synthesized by Force users, would be used to change lightsabers' colors. For example, Luke's synthesized color crystal was green due to his meditation while constructing it.

            It's true. The whole Death Star thing, capturing Leia, getting Luke involved, killing Obi-Wan, blowing up Alderaan, letting the Millennium Falcon go ... It was all a ploy to kill - you guessed it -

            I am actually an expert in this area and unfortunately they are not as worth as much as you might think. The market has really went down in the last ten years and unfortunately it is only worth about $1200 with the box and without only about $100.                 I have both versions of these. My 3 year old cousin came over one day and upon seeing them asked me why I made a package for my poop and named it.
