  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

I'm an Indian and I've seen contexts like these (well, not with laptops up asses) very often. People use these kind of headsets all the time, they're very cheap and easy to get.

Apple's marketing efforts have led idiots to believe that there is no other device that can play mp3s.

Edit: People, I understand that brand names like Kleenex, Band-aid, and Coke have become genericized trademarks which means they are synonymous with a certain class of product. And it's true that iPad has become a generic name for mp3 players.

But what I feel is different with the iPod is that not only has Apple's marketing of the iPod resulted in "iPod" becoming a generic term for mp3 players, it has also resulted in many peoples' understanding that iPod is the only standalone mp3 playing device. I see this is the case with many non-techie people. In this way, I see the market's understanding of the iPod to be different than the market's understanding of what band-aids or Kleenex are - everybody knows that there are generic brands of self-adhesive bandages or facial tissue. With iPods there are many people who don't know that other mp3 players exist.

I think there is a reason for this. A lot of these brands are the best of their specific product. That is the reason they become household names for said product. Now, this is as subjective as anything else, but iPod is probably the best mp3 player around. Don't get me wrong here, because I know you, or many other people, will not agree with that. But the consensus stands. How many more iPods have sold than other mp3 players?
