Rules

  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

  • If your submission appears to be filtered but definitely meets the above rules, please send us a message with a link to the comments section of your post (not a direct link to the image). Don't delete it as that just makes the filter hate you!

  • If you come across any rule violations, please report the submission or message the mods and one of us will remove it!

Please also try to come up with original post titles. Submissions that use certain clichés/memes will be automatically tagged with a warning.

It's funny because the last time this as reposted. It was explained that that branch is never going to be able to hang him. Trees grow from the tips, not from the bottom up.

Not to pop the balloon, but I just have to find a use for this needle.

That appears to be a tree he is watering. The problem with his plan is that the branches on trees remain at the same distance relative to each other as they are when they start growing. Trees add length to their branches and split into new ones, but a rope tied to a branch at a given height will remain at that height until such time as the tree falls down.

He would have better luck digging now that he's tied to the tree.

He can't even commit suicide right! Trees grow from the end of their branches so that limb will always be the same height from the ground.

I'm just waiting to die. We're born. We live. We die.

Don't get me wrong. I love my job. I love the life I've made for myself, but what's it all for?

If life is whatever you make it, then I guess it can also be what you don't make it. I've made my life, and I look back and feel that it was all fun and everything. But really, I'll die some day soon and it won't really matter. The world will continue being with or without me.

Therefore, we're all just here waiting to die. Just that some of us wait around for it while doing something, others wait around for it doing nothing. Either way, it won't matter.

While what you say is true from a certain perspective, there are others available.

What you need is some new experiences. When reflection becomes a main activity, you need to do new things - or hang out with other people more.

Hanging out with people is tiring, and not always in a good way if you get trapped in a situation... but it can have pleasant experiences as well that wouldn't have otherwise. Somethings you can't think into reality, you actually have to DO them in order the FEEL them.

Thank you for your concern. However, please read what I'm about to say without anger or contempt.

As I said, I have a great life. I enjoy every moment of it. I'm a successful working musician and I love my career. I also love my friends, albeit a small group, maybe only a handful even. But each one is like a brother or a sister to me.

I am active enough. I don't watch tv simply because I don't have the time to. I'm out every night, enjoying my life, performing music and getting paid for it. During the day I teach music.

Just as an example, today I went to a business meeting I attend every fortnight, located in a cafe on a beach watching the sunset while we nut out business related issues and we brainstorm. These are things I love.

After that I raced back to my music school I own, I taught a few students during the day who are retired folk. Then a friend came around for lunch. We had a chat. Then he left. Then another friend came by and we rehearsed some music we're working on together. My afternoon was filled with the laugher of children all learning to play music by me. I'm home now and I'm about to go busking with a friend this evening.

This is the life I made for myself, and I wouldn't change a single thing.

However, while I'm happy, enjoying every moment, taking pleasure in a lot of life's simplest things. I have come to realise that after all that, I'll be dead one day and he world will still turn. People will still do more, less or the same as what I do, what you do, what anyone does. And the world will keep on going. Death is around us, it's part of life. And I've experienced enough of people I love dying around me to remind me that we can go at any moment.

So, while I keep very active, we can do a million things, we can invent something new, or we can stay home and get stoned. Either way, it doesn't really matter. There's a beginning, a middle and an end. We all remember the middle part, good or bad. We ignore the ending. But not me. I'm just waiting for the day when I don't wake up in the morning and become fertiliser. But while I wait, I'll make sure I have fun doing it.

He'd die of old age first. I don't know what kind of tree that is, but it will probably take upwards of 30 years for that to be big enough to hang yourself on.

Actually I'd say that it would never grow tall enough because his weight would be so great that the tree would start growing at an angle, like some of the trees you see growing sideways due to constant wind.
