  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

  4. No solicitation of votes (including "cake day" posts), posts with their sole purpose being to communicate with another redditor, or [FIXED] posts. DAE posts go in /r/DoesAnybodyElse. "Fixed" posts should be added as a comment to the original image.

  5. Submissions must link directly to a specific image file or to an image hosting website with minimal ads. We do not allow blog hosting of images ("blogspam"), but links to albums on image hosting websites are okay. URL shorteners are prohibited.

At least in real life, you sometimes say things without being fully conscious about it. Like, you might absentmindedly say "Ugh, today is shit." And then someone asks you what's wrong... and maybe you just needed to get that out of your system.

But on Facebook, you basically have to click your browser, type in the site, take the time to write and submit the comment... you know? And some people even have to log in...

I disagree with that though. Downvoting is not to say "I disagree" or "I dislike this". You downvote something that doesn't contribute to the conversation, ie spam or trolling. Of course this is ignored, look at amalockh's post. He brings up a valid, contrary point that could prompt discussion about a dislike button on facebook.

The fact that ilikeorangesoda has 38 upvotes and amalockh has -36 shows that upvotes, like liking and disliking on FB, are flawed.

I only noticed the gallery effect for the GoT comics, but navigating through the rest of the comics didn't change the url in the address bar (which has the side effect of breaking the back button).

No, but dude, there is no way to know who to credit for this picture, yet Catfish and Max are acting as if people are knowingly insulting them. This picture belongs to the internet now. There is simply no way to tell every single person who has this image on their computer who made it. There's no use getting upset over something that can't be helped.

You can just as easily remove a signature. Also, watermarking is lame, since it just doesn't look good. I do get what you're saying, and I do partially agree with you, but the creators probably didn't post their work to have other people link it outside of their own website. It's unintentional harm to link outside of it's source, but it still is harm.

me not signing it when i posted it doesn't negate the fact that i drew the comic in the first place. the whole internet doesn't know that i drew it, and never will. when i do see it posted, i feel the need to point out that it's my work, because i take things like that seriously. it was a shitty mistake to post it without signing it, and i'm dealing with that, but that doesn't mean i'm not allowed to let at least a few people know where it came from if i can.

i don't think any of you guys are being insulting. i'm just attempting to do whatever damage control i can here and there.

It's true that he should have signed it. If you visit the site, you'll notice he has signed all his works created after the fact, specifically because this comic has made like 8 rounds of the internet.

It's just annoying how many times it gets reposted and people ask for the source, and nobody ever knows. Can't change it, but still annoying.

i know you probably didn't get the image from my tumblr, my artblog, my facebook page, or from the tumblr it was originally circulated on without any citation (to my chagrin), but yes, this is my comic, and it was originally posted on http://maxbeckart.blogspot.com, and then, after it was tumblr'd by some other dude, i stuck it on http://cringeworthycomic.com .

JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW. my friend CatfishRadiator seems to have been making the rounds to let people know about this too.

Generally speaking, if I post about having a bad day, it's because I want to talk about it, and I'm a pretty open person, so I don't mind people knowing what's happening in my life. I just don't get too far into detail if I can help it. If I have to, I'll private message.

But at the root of it, it'd still be me whining for attention. I don't really do that now that I'm off my old medication.

Well, in all fairness, social networks these days have served to keep us even more isolated, since now, what with people of varying closeness and potential employers screening, it's hard to actually be yourself. Best you can do is send the message out and hope someone cares enough to get in contact through something a bit more private.

Ironic, that. It's truly hard for a depressed person (or someone just having a bad day) to get the support they need because of this new feature that was supposed to bring people together.
