It's the equivalent to a catch-phrase from a sitcom. It's funny the first few times you hear "Did I do that?" or "I'm Rick James, bitch!" But once it enters the common lexicon it tires quickly and anyone who uses it in conversation looks like an idiot because they have reduced themselves to the behavior of a parrot.
