I am always amazed at the number of 4WD pickups with handicapped tags, especially the ones that are lifted. Really, the person has significant mobility issues but is able to climb in and out of the truck.

You are wrong. Christianity and Judaism share God. "he who is called i am", amongst other names.

Muslims worship Allah which is not a reference to God of christianity and Judaism. They have a "christ" but he is a false prophet. It is taught by muslims that after their "mahdi" comes back, christ appears and tells everyone that he lied and did not die on the cross and that he is now the executioner for allah.

As a redditor from Wheaton IL, (about 20 miles outside Chicago) you are correct. But his wife sold a book and the town went crazy on that theme. We have Billy Grahams Wheaton College ( look it up in best food of any college in the US). No booze, no sex, no smoking just BS. But the people are wonderful and nobody needs to lock their doors. There is absolutley no reason to come here unless you want to go to church. 40+ churches. Not 1 damn bar. Population about 60K of highly educated republican protestans! The other day while driving with my parents in San Francisco we saw a car with the license plate "I <3 Iraq" (It was an actual heart though) and my parents freaked out and started bitching about how wrong it is for "people like that" to support terrorists. i totally agree with you and i believe that you can only change those opinions by dealing with them and hearing them, but things like "kill them all" can be punished under special circumstances here in germany. i don't think that this is the way to handle them, but i thought it would be the same in the us. maybe nice to hear that it is not.

I understand and respect the cultural paranoia and fear that such expression could generate in Germany. However, one does not want to use the same means as the evil he fights.

In the US we have what are called "hate crime laws." If this nut went out and beat up some poor bugger who was Muslim, he could face extra punishment for being motivated by "hate."

Personally I think that is bullshit. As as Jumpa Lahiri (I think) once wrote: "You have to be able to curse a thing, to hate it, to kill it." All crimes of violence are hate crimes, as I see it, and to make one murder worse than another because of the killer's motivation, in my eyes, demeans the victim.

The neckbeards of the universe (well this topic) are demonstrating just as much hate and vitreol (sp) as the person in the truck. (this truck ends up on reddit at least once a month).

The furthur we get from 9-11-2001 the softers peoples memories get. I am not endorsing the sentiments found on the truck, but i also know that the radical muslims of the world aren't done with us by any stretch of the imagination.
