This year I'm going hunting with my uncle and cousins. I am not as much concerned to kill the beast as I am to gut and skin it. Not to sound like the creepiest guy ever, but it's a skill I haven't quite mastered. I fish a lot and this is basically the next step up. I should mention I cook quite a bit, so it's not so much about the brutalization of the animal as it is the preserving of all of its resources.

I look at bambi the same way many would look at a vegetable. It's something I wish to consume, and because it's a living creature I'd feel bad to not learn how to respect it in the proper manner. When I fish I use 100% of the animal. Everything that isn't eaten is thrown back into where I caught the fish so that the other creatures can feed on it.
