I can understand the appeal of a MacBook, but I don't think I could ever justify spending $1300 when I could spend around $500 on a laptop that does something very similar. Seriously what am I missing?

Yeah, when my course uni course started last year (Music Technology), I think one of the roughly 40 other students had a MacBook. Now about two thirds, including myself have them. It's the nature of the course though, a lot of the programs we use are Mac exclusive/work better on Macs. Although everyone got the 13" MacBooks, and one guy got the bigger MacBook Pro. Damn I hate that hipster...
As someone that's done audio production on both platforms, I much appreciate how little troubleshooting I have had to do with a Mac. Plug the shit in and it's instantly recognized and works. This was RARELY the case on Windows.

How do you know if someone owns a PC? They don't consider their choice of computer manufacturer to be a socially appropriate conversation starter.
