  1. No screenshots, or pictures with added or superimposed text. This includes image macros, comics, info-graphics and most diagrams. Text (e.g. a URL) serving to credit the original author is exempt.

  2. No gore or porn. NSFW content must be tagged.

  3. No personal information. This includes anything hosted on Facebook's servers, as they can be traced to the original account holder. Stalking & harassment will not be tolerated.

curious, since this is an old piece, when you say commissioned you mean you paid someone to hand paint duplicates of someone else work?

I'm wondering, too. The original was Nighthawks, but this version is just the same as Banksy's version, except in place of the football (soccer) hooligan, it's the "Fuck you I'm an anteater" anteater.

3 years ago this anteater version was in circulation in reprints etc., so the copy of a copy of a copy he got re-painted.

    I just loved the picture. I wanted to get my father a present. He takes a good lot of photos so i decided to ask him for his favourite one and get it painted for him. When I went into the shop I thought to myself that i may as have a painting as well because my walls are pretty empty. So i thought for a while about what to have done and settled on this.

    I sent the shop a picture of the anteater/nighthawks peice and she painted it up for me. Hope that answers your question. It took about 6 days to paint up 3 paintings (My friend had one done for his mother as well).

          Is it really obvious that it's handpainted? I remember seeing this image for the first time about 5 or more years ago.

          Is it possible that it's a print that they texturized to look like a painting? I've seen that in hotels a few times. Check for brush strokes going in different directions.

              As i said in a previous post.

              "I am not to sure to be honest. We commissioned 3 different types of paintings from the shop so the prices got a bit jumbled up. Then we paid in Vietnamese Dong so that confused things even more. I think it was between $50 and $70 USD. The paining itself is about 3.5ft x 1.5ft."

                You know if you go to a local college you could probably get something commissioned without having to deal with exchange rates or any other nonsense. I'm not saying that the Vietnamese painting has anything wrong with it but shipping will eat your lunch and it's pretty common to have damage unless you have it packed in a heavy crate.

                BTW I'm a painter with a degree who works at an art museum. I know a little bit about this stuff.

                    The original was Edward Hopper's Nighthawks, which Banksy redrew/repainted, right? He added the football hooligan in the Union Flag boxershorts, the chairs, the cracked window and changed it so the diner patrons were looking out of the window. So, it's Banksy's version with the anteater added?

                              I am not to sure to be honest. We commissioned 3 different types of paintings from the shop so the prices got a bit jumbled up. Then we paid in Vietnamese Dong so that confused things even more. I think it was between $50 and $70 USD. The paining itself is about 3.5ft x 1.5ft.
