Whale biologist here

A rhino is a preyed upon animal and so it will have its eyes on the sides of its head not the front, therefore it will only have at max about 10-15% vision overlap and should not be hugely disturbed by the horn. Also I'm lying about the whale biologist, I just thought it would help you read the next part. Sorry for deceiving you.

You know, at least he has the motor skills and hand eye coordination along with the artistic ability to create those pieces of art. I mean, he's definitely no Van Goh or Monet but at least he's putting his work out there. Give him 2-3 years and his work may blossom into something of more value. I find it sad that some people would label this young up and coming artist's work as poor. Can you imagine how he's going to feel when he sees this on the front page?

When ever I think of a rhinoceros I realize they are pretty much dinosaurs. (I'm sure there are a million differences, so relax Melvin.) It sort of blows my mind every time.

This rhino needs to hear the story of the hippopotamus.

The hippopotamus, he is not born going, "Cool bean, I am a hippo." No way, José. So he tried to paint the stripe on himself to be like the zebra, but he fool no one. And then he tried to put the spot on his skin to be like the leopard, but everyone know he is a hippo. So at certain point, he look himself in the mirror, and he just say, "Hey, I am a hippopotamus, and there is nothing I can do about it." And as soon as he accepts this, he live life happy. Happy as a hippo.

Actually, the Human nose is inside our field of vision, but our brain simply chooses to ignore it, so we never see it.

The same would happen to a Rhino if this was the case.

As a kid, I had a super crappy camera with this giant plastic view-finder that stuck way up above the shutter, and I didn't understand that what I saw wasn't necessarily what I got. I was at the grand canyon and just at eye level with railing. I barely peaked over and ended with about three roles of shots of the railing. Pretty much ruined me for a future career in photography.

This made me chuckle because I've tried to do the same thing with my own field of vision - trying to draw a scene exactly as I see it, complete with my own nose/brow/cheek.

Has anyone else tried this? I always give up after a while as it gets so confusing and I can't really draw anyway, but I'd really like to see a finished image.
