False. A tap on the knee triggers the patellar reflex, causing the quadriceps to contract to protect the knee joint and to aid motion. This results in a kick motion rather than a kneeing motion.

I actually play melee competitively. I wouldn't say it has a better tournament scene, but it has a better competitive scene. People are constantly getting better at the game, even 10 years after the release.

Brawl, on the other hand, is freaking gay and lacks the depth and intensity that melee competitive play has.

You have no idea how sad I was when I played brawl in general. Everything I liked about melee pretty much ruined. Sure, they nerfed characters and then made an insanely over powered character. They took away the stuff that made melee technical (wavedashing/l-canceling) that imo made melee fun. They slowed the game down and moved every stage to the moon. So, yeah brawl is ruined in my eyes. Also, before anybody says that wavedashing is a glitch its not. Its part of the game mechanics, it has an animation, and the creators of the game knew about it and decided to leave it in.

Now, about that knee. I don't main CF, but I do 2nd him. Man, people that don't play CF have no idea how fun it is to land that knee. The best time to land a knee is when you have like 160+ damage and your opponent is around 50-60 and you land a reverse knee. Then, they fuck up their DI because its a reverse knee and BAM DEATH. Make sure to get a taunt in after to seal the deal.

I, too, was crushed by this fact, plus the nerfed priority of his moves and the greatly reduced ability to combo in Brawl. He's a bit useless in Brawl, but he can still be fun to play in any reasonably casual match.

I still pick Falcon now and then just for the chance to get a few Knees in, but I think that Zelda's magic foot has replaced the Knee as the most badass side-air hit in the game.

You'll get more satisfaction getting a knee off in Brawl as it's much harder to sweetspot, and there's no set combo into it.

But you prob wouldn't care about fighting metaknights when you can wavedash, combo, and get camped by jigglypuff.

I find the Knee of Justice to be less satisfying in Brawl since its knockback was reduced, so even when sweetspotted it's not as terribly devastating, although you could argue that also come from Capt. Falcon overall being nerfed pretty hard.

But I will argue that thouse things are from Melee being a more satisfying game than brawl in where you can string a massive combo and end with a kill/gimp.

But as a former competitive Brawl player, I find brawl more satisfying as there are more reads to make and the smoother feeling of the game. That is until Metaknights swarmed tournaments...

I'm not going to say you're wrong for liking brawl because you're not. I don't really like it, but different people like different things. I just don't know what you mean by more reads to make compared to melee. In either game you have to be able to read your opponent to be successful. Hell, if anything melee would require more reads since you have more options for spacing and it is faster.

Don't know why you were downvoted, Jigglypuff is considered top tier in Melee. JP was always well rated, rising in the recent revisions. The Wall of Pain can be downright terrifying. Brawl JP is pretty bad, with Rest and several aerials being nerfed.

Brawl is shitty. Landing the knee isn't exactly easy in melee either. I mean, for me personally it is because I play so much and 2nd falcon. Also, you talk about wavedashing like it is a bad thing. Not even considering metaknight (who basically reruins brawl), I have no care for a game that is super slow, took the technical stuff away from melee (wave dashing/l-canceling), is way campier than melee and feels like you're playing on the moon.

i don't have a wii, i played it and after melee it felt sluggish and stupid (falling over after turning randomly). it's fun yes, but not as competitive. and the original smash bros is just as much fun with friends, so while i don't feel like hot shit for not playing it, i do feel like i've saved some money while getting the same amount of fun and competition from the previous two titles

I think you're actually exaggerating how people react to brawl. Yeah, I hate the game and think it is terrible compared to melee. The jump from 64 to melee was awesome and I still play both to this day. Considering the gameplay in melee I think it is understandable that the next game would of consisted of the same level/type of technicalness. When that isn't what happened and the technical stuff got replaced by randomly tripping and moon physics it was disappointing.

Yes, melee still exist, but the death of a smash game with the same style of melee happened. The next smash game will be like brawl and most likely even further away from melee. IMO, the tournament scene for melee will continue to exist for a long time even from now. The tourny scene for brawl will most likely die out very shortly after the next smash games are released.

Over the years', although he was never my favorite, I have never found more joy and elation from jumping off the stage, kneeing/stomping an opponent in a bubble and then successfully making it back on stage.

Felt like a total pro among my friends when I did that.
