There are people that do care, and it has nothing to do with the imaginary internet points. I think that most people who take the time to point out this type of behavior care about either improving the quality of reddit or informing others about disingenuous behavior. Stolen content, spamming, and reposts can have a serious impact on the quality of the reddit experience. Some people do care about the community and not the karma

I'm not the guy who you are replying to, but HanSkywalker pisses me off. Imagine if everyone did it, it would just be a huge circlejerk and every month people would post the same pictures. We can't cater to those who "might've not seen it", because then we would constantly be posting the same things over and over again. Things need to advance.

The worst part is that HanSkywalker considers himself to be some kind of a hero because he says that everybody loves his posts and he also brags with his karma.

In this world there must be a karmic balance. Everything good or bad you do must return to you. If you do bad things and people forgive you right away, you remember to do more bad things in the future. You might not even think that, but the feeling is there. "Turns out there's nothing to fear. I wasn't wrong. I did bad things and succeeded."

To combat that, everyone, everytime, needs to enforce karmic justice. No matter how tiny of a matter it is, if someone's doing bad things knowing he's doing it worse for someone (like reposting several times) or ignoring someone's inconvenience, you have to make it sure he gets it back.

Right now it's only internet points. But people don't differentiate. If they see it's okay in the internet they'll do that in real life too.

Sure, karma does not matter, but people do care about this type of behavior because it is bad for the reddit community. Spamming, stealing, and reposting content are detrimental to the quality of posts and they can even hurt the content creators.

I just hate having to sift through these stupid reposts while on /new

I saw a great one of these in last year's Chicago Bears training camp diaries (or something similar)

The only difference was it read "ISRAEL WANTS" "YOU TO GIVE" "HIM A HI-5" and had defensive end Israel Idonije at the top
