I still feel this way every Christmas, and I'm 23. I have two brothers, and this past year I: -Built a Mame cabinet for the middle brother which is inside a small hardshell metal briefcase -For the oldest brother, I spent 10 months micro-brewing batch after batch of beer, finally finding the perfect one to give him for Christmas.

I got a pair of silk socks. From our mother.

I'm 22 and socks are the only thing I ask for.

Maybe you wouldn't need that many socks if you didn't spend so much time savagely masturbating into them. BOOM ROASTED.

Clipping your toe nails regularly keeps the tips rip free.

He's saying you are high functioning. Like Charlie Babbitt's brother.

There was a story I saw a while back about a guy who refurbished an arcade cabinet of his brother's favorite game (cleaned, re-wired, re-painted, new vinyl) over a period of months as a Christmas gift... and got something like a tie in return.

I turned 35 last Thursday. My Mom bought me socks. It was exactly what I wanted.

I share the same birthday as my brother, so this wasn't a problem for me.

Same here. I still call my brother "the worst birthday present I ever got", but at least we both gloried the spoils every year after that.

Me and my oldest sister are 10 years apart, but our birthdays are 4 days apart. So we have always had combined birthday parties.

My other sister is right in the middle of both of us and always threw a tantrum about not getting anything on our birthdays. So my mom started getting her a present to open each time...this continued until she was 24...

I actually told my mom that a couple days before my older brother's birthday and she actually got me my own present :D

That's exactly how I used to feel when my two younger sisters would be celebrating their birthdays back when we were kids. They were both born near Christmas (2 years apart), and everybody assumes you would get the short end of the present stick having your birthday be around then, but in reality it's the opposite. Since it's Christmas time, my parents were already in the mindset of "We're going to be spending a ton of on the kids this month.", so their birthday celebrations were always big affairs. My birthday is in the summer, when nobody feels like buying shit. I'd be lucky if I got a book.

My two cousins were so spoiled rotten that they got gifts on each others birthdays. Not as many but still.

my brother and sister are twins, double sucked. plus theyre birthday was in the summer when our dad worked and actually had money....yup.

[–]CryWolf13 1 point2 points ago

Never had this problem. Most likely because my birthday was ten days later

[–]corvett 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

I'm a twin, so it took me some time to realize that not everyone's experience was the same as mine, so that their brother getting presents didn't mean themselves getting some as well.

I mean, I know that not everybody is a twin, but I'd never thought about birthday experiences like that before, and it just never hit me.

I'm not a twin and my brother and I share a birthday

[–]RomulusvsRemus 2 points3 points ago

Same here; it's annoying having the share your birthday - but there would probably be less jealousy going on, unless of course your twin got something better than you...

This is how my younger brother felt watching me get birthday presents. He would do whatever he could to get my family to pay attention to him instead. I remember one year he managed to lock himself inside a dog crate and kept slamming into one side of the crate until he made his way into the dining room where the rest of the family was.
