The guy was a professional and understood the risks. He was a daredevil and made a relatively successful career out of ignoring fear and risk to do incredible stunts. He wasn't just some dipshit teenager who overestimated his ability. He was perfectly capable of pulling that stunt off. His only mistake was trusting the competence of the driver. He deserves your respect because he ultimately succumbed to severe depression do to his inability to keep pursuing what he loves. He killed himself because of that accident and the injuries he sustained.

You're all assuming he was too stupid to know better and I'm being downvoted because I'm telling you he wasn't. This guy did not try to do something stupid. He was trying to do something awesome despite knowing perfectly well what the risks were. To qualify for a Darwin award you have to be too dumb to know better so you all look like total jackasses right now. It's easy to sit in front of a computer and criticize some guy for getting seriously injured trying to pull some stunt off that no one has ever tried before. It's extremely difficult to go out there and try it yourselves.
