The "tzu" in "shih tzu" is actually pronounced "zih,"--almost like "zen" without the "n." It's an old way of transliterating Chinese (think "Peking" instead of "Beijing") and so the pronunciation is even further away from the way English speakers try to pronounce it.

Anyway this joke doesn't make any sense if you pronounce it correctly.
