You haven't tried vegetarian bacon? Holy shit. When I first tried it, I couldn't decide if I wanted it to taste more like bacon or less like bacon. It's amazing. Try it with fried tomatoes, hot chips and eggs and you have the breakfast of kings!

As a guy who's traveled back and forth UK bacon kinda sucks; usually has too much of a fat ring on it that makes it far too chewy; although when done right it can be good.

Id take Canadian bacon over UK bacon personally. Honestly; I didn't even find the UK to be really that into breakfast foods in general.

Thats exactly what i mean!! :) The beans for breakfast! I think my issue was the first time I went to UK i was very young on business; like 23 or something and I was a fish out of water and also was in Scotland which was around the time of Robert Burnes Bday so Haggis was also introduced.

Also I present American Breakfast! (795 calories, 50 grams of fat (14 of that sat fat), 65 grams carbs, 34 grams protein)

I guess when you say travelling, you stayed at hotels/B&Bs and mostly didn't purchase your own bacon from supermarkets? You got shafted by whoever purchased and prepared your bacon. Back bacon should not have a large fat ring at all. Canadian bacon is no different to British bacon. They're both just terms for back bacon. I personally check the bacon packs in the supermarket and only purchase packs with small fat rings (<2mm thick). They're not at all hard to find. I find eating out is very hit-and-miss with bacon, since chewy fat rings are not that rare, sadly. I almost never eat out though, so it's all good.

Yea, your right; didn't really get to buy real food from the Grocery so that would explain that aspect. I think the way they cut the bacon in most Canadian restaurants seems to be generally a tighter cut at least at the places ive traveled though.

Pedantic fact check incoming. Pigs actually aren't dirty animals it just appears that way because they roll in mud to protect their skin from the heat, sun, insects, etc. In fact, pigs are some of the cleanest animals around, refusing to excrete anywhere near their living or eating areas when given a choice.
