    These houses were actually designed to be relatively cheap at around 500k in construction costs, so it isn't too crazy.

              Can anyone else figure out where the bottom photo is taken? Either it's mirrored, the underground portion is under the foreground's grass, or it's not the same pool.

              My MS Paint skills kind of suck, but I think this should explain it. There are two sets of pool stairs. Only one set of stairs are visible in each photo.

              The first set of stairs goes from the surface to about a depth of about 4-5 feet. It is only visible in the bottom photo. They would be right next to the stairs leading to the 2nd floor in the top photo.

              The second set of stairs goes from about 4-5 feet in depth to about 8-10 feet in depth. And they are only visible in the top photo. If the bottom photo had more of a panoramic view, you might be able to see the second set of stairs on the left side of the photo.

              Looking on the architects website they do a lot of houses like this so I think someone has just put two shots from different houses together.

              I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I think the stairs are actually underwater and part of the swimming pool. If you look closely in the top photo, you can see a ramp (possibly stairs) going deeper in the water towards the right edge of the photo. The stairs might be just for show or for construction when there was no water.

              With that in mind, I think the bottom photo was taken with the camera pointing towards the right edge of the photo, and the basement is beneath what appears to be the 'floor' of the pool. Also, since the shaded room in the back seems completely empty, it could be where the stairs are located.

                      I know its a joke but, you can make glass that is very strong (the CN Tower in Torono has glass floors). If its retaining water (heavy) then its almost certainly a high thickness high strength glass rather than, say, something like a typical windowpane. I don't think anything less than a car crashing through would really have a chance of breaking the glass there.

                      Hey that's a vanishing edge ... The company my husband works for does crazy elaborate pools. There's one on top of a building with the vanishing edge thing (I'll try to find the pic) that looks scary as hell!

                      Big aquariums like zoos and such usually have a diver clean them every morning. I got a buddy who does it for sea world. So every morning they clean the algae and stuff.
